MSNBC was bashing Google Earth

They were saying that it helps the terrorists or something like that. MSNBC is affiliated with Microsoft, so it's not surprising. I think the programs really cool if you ask me.

but I like the interface on NASA's worldwind program better... it's much more immersive and natural feeling...

I found the google program much faster (the images load much faster atleast) though and the 3d buildings feature is really cool.

Also I found more hi res and updated images in the google program.

has the unfortunately-named Terraserver that'll let you peer right into someone's backyard. They need to shut their yaps.

6. What could you get from google earth that...

you couldn't get from a $2 map from any service station. Or any map program. Doesn't MS have a VERY detailed map that interfaces with car computers?

allows them to see the bases. i wasn't buying it, and it wasn't a fair report to google because they aren't the ones who are making these images. they just have a program.

The images are years old. 5 to 10 years old on some. And when there are sensitive areas, they are set to not zoom in - ever try to get in Area 51?
