begging to the UN, I called that as a victim play. WE ALL KNOW he wouldn't get a dime from anyone in the UN, which puts US in the position of the being the money bags.

Bush will blame it all on the UN lack of cooperation, that he HAD to raise taxes to bail out and liberate iraq.

If he was a true leader and a statesman, he'd ask for a tax raise on only the wealthiest in our country. But since he isn't, he won't.

Personally, I think a big tax increase on the Federal Gas Tax - half going to US infrastructure and half going to Iraq would be the easiest to implement.

5. I agree with part of your posting.

Frankly, I don't really view Bush's recent visit to the UN as begging - far from it. I think it was more along the lines of the same "you're with us or you're against us" crap. He really didn't "ask" for much - he demanded that they help out and told them it was their responsibility.

I do, however, believe that it is very likely that he will blame the administration's inability to deal with Iraq on the UN. I have no doubt that he will claim that we failed because the UN refused to help.

That would be wonderful! Almost certainly we'll have record debt instead. Democrats must block raising the debt ceiling. They were fools to let it pass without much debate in the past. They need to stand up for fiscal responsibility to future generations.
