What the Peace House could really use right now

In the last couple of hours I've had the opportunity to talk to both Hadi and Kay.

I posted in another thread what they really need a few good people to volunteer and pitch in. Answering phones, helping with the T-shirts, food prep whatever comes up.

Find Kay or Hadi (tell either one I sent you (sherry)) and offer up a couple of hours of your time to do whatever needs being done. Especially as more people come in.

2. I mailed a package today, and I don't think that I can be there so..

What type of t's are needed and what else is needed? My spouse told our kids at dinner tonight that if they weren't starting back to school Mon. morning, "you know your mother would be in Crawford and she'd probably have you with her. As it is, if she can figure out someway to fly and return in time to get you to school Mon. I wouldn't count her out yet."

I just don't think I can make it, but I will try to support any way that I can.

4. Been trying to find this out all day:

Can we for goodness sakes get Cindy an earpiece for her phone? The LA times article said her ear/neck was sore from holding it up. This is simple but easily overlooked. I posted a thread last night but we were too busy trying to make sure no arrests to follow through.
I would certainly be willing to donate this if someone can tell me what to get. Is there a generic one that will fit or does she need the specific one? Etc. Please let me know..........

5. That's why I said they need voluteers. They are buried.

I just read Will's pit about the non-violence training being given. The minister giving is terrific. If this is what has been arranged everyone there should be in attendance, you've never to old to learn something new.

(alot of people in attendance have yet to meet our Texas freeps and PW's and I promise they are coming, trust me)

8. More than likely on the printer issue, not for sure though.

I just got back home and while I was out picking up Mr A and having a quick meal with Mr A I spoke with Barry C and Hadi about vans and shuttling.

We're sending out this message, if you have a vehicle that will hold multiple bodies please volunteer. We are also working out logistics of van rentals. I spent a couple of hours locating such and getting pricing. If you are flying into Austin or Dallas tomorrow to get there please PM me.

Also, from Kay, they need a freezer or even just another refrigerator to keep food in. Will check on person who brought tents, fans and generators early in am.

Thanks goes out to everyone here at DU that are helping Cindy, MFSO's, GSFP's, VFP, IVAW's and everyone else and Crawford Peace House to keep this to be a positive event.

Please tomorrow when you get in stop in at the Peace House first. This is very important, traffic on "Prairie Chapel" road is getting to be a real source of contention and we want to do everything possible to diffuse irritation. Please help us that have been involved with the Crawford Peace House since its founding to help us to maintain the positives we have been able to achieve in this community since the founding of the Peace House in 2003.

9. What i want to know is how will you tell the difference between

supporters of Cindy and the freeps? I hope a lot of them don't show up, blend in and take all the food and water pretending to be supporters.

11. We have been dealing with these issues for a long time. Trust Hadi,

Johnny, Kay and all the rest down there right now. They are just like here, at DU, they have a bad habit of outing themselves quickly. You'll know them quick.

There are lots of us in the Central Texas area that were caught very off guard with this action. We are all scrambling to keep up, take time off and provide all the support we possibly can. Most Dallas area DU'ers can't make it till Saturday. More of us by the minute are arranging our schedules.

52. Well, as I said earlier the worm might be turning.

The people I work with have been fighting this fight for a very long time. My surrogate mom shows up every year at SOA watch. We (mr a and I were married in the Mennonite church).

There is really a rather special bunch of peacemakers in the DFW metroplex and I am very proud to know them.

I quit many weeks ago, but whenever Hadi calls, or asks for help, we are there. The Vets For Peace National Convention in my very humble opinion was the catalyst. I am certain of it.

Enough for now, I'm at least an hour late.
