I am confused, O'riellys documentation on Sheean
He claimed after the meeting with President Bush, Sheehan was completely satisfied with the presidents conduct and expressed her thanks to Bush, she felt the president really did care. But according to an article in the LA times, she was quoted as saying this..

Sheehan, a Vacaville, Calif., resident who opposed the war even before her son's death, was a member of one such group in June 2004. She came away from that meeting dissatisfied and angry.

"We wanted to look at pictures of Casey, we wanted him to hear stories about Casey, and he wouldn't. He changed the subject every time we tried," Sheehan said. "He wouldn't say Casey's name, called him: 'your loved one.' "

What's with this contradiction?

3. He's not known as O'Liely for nothing
Says what he wants to be true and is not bothered in the least by letting facts get in his way.

6. She's already explained what happened there, that she
was in shock and that it took her a year to put together what she felt with the clarity she needed to fight what she considered his arrogance and lack of caring. Too bad O'Reilly didn't get the memo.

7. I just watched the O'Reilly account
John Gibson was the host. Not much of what they said was the truth. They didn't even mention the DSM. It seemed that their only goal was to say anti-war as many times as possible and pretend that the groups that are there with Cindy somehow diminish her views. It was crap, basically. The Right Wing is trying their level best to "catch her" in a trap. She's not playing their games. Good for her! The whole lot of politicians and media that we are dealing with today should learn from this woman.

9. Can we get one standard response for all the people who ask this very...
question, so that we can copy and paste it. I'm frankly getting sick and tired of "DUers" using O'Reilly as a source here to discredit Cindy.

10. One standard response: Downing Street Memo....
The DSM is one of Ms. Sheehan's big issues. The Right Wing does not have those three words in their vocabulary.

13. If they don't realize by now that O'Reilly lies...
we can't help them. For those who don't know much about O'Reilly, go to the Smoking Gun, do a search there, and find out what kind of person he really is.

12. Oh screw O'Liely!
He never gets it! Pompous, overpaid, overrated, over-inflated ego, AHole! Facts changed from the time Cindy met with bush** and at the time she was in shock. She now knows the whole story and is angered by the facts which clearly show that bush** lied and her son died as a result of those lies! O'Liely can go cheney himself!

14. Intelligent people change their opinions when presented with ...
sufficient evidence to do so.

Is this difficult for some people to understand?

I suppose if you are indoctrinated to always think what the talking points tell you to think, it does seem extraordinary for a person to change their opinion.

I only hope that there are many others with the moral courage of Cindy Sheehan.

16. O'Lielly is taking her comments out of context regarding the meeting.
If you would take the time to find the original article from the Vacaville newspaper you would find out the truth. Someone here will link to it, I'm certain.. but here's the deal.

Cindy had stated (according the the article written shortly after her meeting) that SHE HAD ISSUES WITH THE WAR AND BUSH, but felt that it was better to honor Casey by not pushing that when she met Bush. She did discuss that ahead of time... she was not a fan of the war when she met Bush, but in her grief and need to honor Casey, she refrained from making a political statement.

She also mentioned that meeting the other families, and taking the trip was healing for her and gave them a chance to feel normal just for a few moments, that's when she stated that the togetherness was the gift Bush gave them (it had nothing to do with anything Bush said, it was the trip).

I'm going to link a very very thorough rebuttal to assbites like O'Lielly who feel they have to smear the grieving parents: http://www.boomantribune.com/story/2005/8/8/125041/8506

Once he gets his mouth wraped around some misinformation. He locks on and just won't let go.
