A canine. A meat eater. A beast of known aggression.

She's four months old and does not know "manners" about humans yet.


Have you ever seen a dog take a kitten? It's the most violent death one could imagine. Unbelievable shaking from the nape of the neck that snaps it. After the sport, the game is over. Most household dogs will not eat their prey. The dead is done, the owner has scolded but the dead is done and the beast is happy.

I have a four month old Lab. We play and throw sticks, she licks and nips, she's a destroyer of houses. This evening, I brought all forty pounds of her up onto my lap on the front porch as lightning split the sky only a few miles away. She ignored the resulting cacophonous thunder ad went to town on my neck.

No nips, no aggression, just licks to taste. To discern the real me.

This beast, this animal.






This animal knows that we live in a mutual world. I feed, but it's more than that. There's a love of a kindred spirit, but a natural programming for cats unless she's been raised around a cat.

I have seen other Labs with cats and kittens asleep on their backs. I have seen dogs bring wounded rabbits to me because the dog knows I might be able to help.

Are we that different?

If we take the time to learn those different than ourselves, we find they are like us.

If we learn that the others that are different have things we cannot know, we cherish them.

indigenous oriented canine in the world.
Even more so than the Dingo.

5. About the Jindo Dog-

The Korean Jindo Dog (Jindo Gae)

Except for Jindo Island residents, most Koreans have never experienced a purebred Jindo Dog. For one thing, there aren't too many Jindo dogs outside Jindo Island. Until the late 1970's, when Jindo Island was linked to the mainland by a bridge, Jindo dogs had been isolated from the rest of the world for thousands of years

There is a strong current running between Jindo Island and the mainland that makes it difficult to cross the narrow strait. In the year 1592, Chosun Dynasty's General Yee Soon-Shin sunk invading Japanese warships at this location. The current also kept Mongolians from setting foot on the island in the 12th century, when they invaded the Korean peninsula.

The Jindo dog is a medium-sized hunting dog with exceptional loyalty to its master. The Jindo's innate sense of direction enables the dog to pursue prey long distances without getting lost. Over the years, its tenacity as a hunter has been misdirected into dog fighting much too often, however Jindo is not a fighting dog.

What makes your Jindo and my Lab the way they are?

Genetics plays a large part, but this begs to question genetic memories, which begs to question one heluva lot of other things.

I know my Jindo is completely operating from ancient
wolf memory- she is not your average dog, she is completely
instinctual, therefore completely authentic in her existence
on a minute to minute basis.
Proof of her unfailing instinct?
She LOVES NothingShocksMeAnymore...
Not easy to win the affection of a Jindo, and NSMA did...
I was VERY impressed.
