I don't mean going to Free Republic. I won't waste my time arguing with someone who's position is hopeless to change. No Jesus sites, either. Same mentality.

Is there a good discussion board where a rational exchange of ideas can take place?

4. Believe it or not...
...try this Yahoo! board. It is "secret." Shh. Don't tell anyone. It hasn't been listed on Yahoo! in a couple of years, but they don't take it down. It's like a micro-mini DU that allows righties (mainly because we can't do a damned thing about 'em, and we've been largely successful at driving them off with (usually) intelligent, provocative issues-oriented posts. Those bore the hell out of freepers real fast.

It isn't always top shelf, just like DU has its bad days. But most of the remaining posters (since it went double-super-secret) know each other fairly well, a lot like some of us on DU. Just keep in mind...it IS a Yahoo! board, but it is actually a pretty decent one.

"The Titty Board" (So named for the Yahoo! News story which spawned it -- that of John Ashcroft covering the breasts on the Statue of Justice.)

5. New York Times and WP website forums
Edited on Thu Aug-11-05 11:02 PM by firefox
The NYT forums are worth checking out. Regional newspapers and many television stations have websites.

Fatwallet.com started with coupons and discounts. They have a new forum that would get a good cross section and the people were not drawn there for political discussion originally. It is also somewhat new and that has advantages- http://www.fatwallet.com/c/69/
