Is this Crawford policeman sending the message that he's on our side?
Look! He has a Livestrong bracelet on. Now we all know that only after John Kerry wore one did it become a popular item. Is he sending us a subtle message that he's on our side?

2. not necessarily
that's like seeing a deadhead sticker and thinking they mst be on our side.

Where I live, they have deadhead stickers next to their W43 sticker...

GRRRRRR!

3. Lots of people in Texas wear them
Just because Lance is from Texas. The hard core right wingers that I used to work for had them on quite a bit.

4. That's a bit of a leap.
Maybe he's just against cancer. That's what the yellow wrist band really represents: http://www.nike.com/wearyellow/main.html

14. Apparently Kerry got one at a rally
Someone gave him one because Kerry had cancer too and fought it and made it (can't remember what type though). He has been wearing it ever since.

8. Do you have ANY idea how worshipped Lance is in these parts?
Edited on Thu Aug-11-05 11:16 PM by jobycom
He's a god. My boss, a very conservative man whose son-in-law was once partners with Ralph Reed, wears a Livestrong bracelet.

he could be, but they are not unusual around here. Lance has replaced Troy Aikman, Nolan Ryan and Wyatt Earp in Central Texas folklore.

11. My guess is "Support the Troops"
They look exactly the same but say "support the troops". I'm sure all proceeds are going to buy armor for the troops just like the ribbon magnets. :sarcasm:

12. I think that it is safe to say there may be many in law enforcement
that are on "our side"...

The CIA certainly comes to mind.

17. In response to your question and I hope many more pay attention.
Johnny and Hadi and Kay and all the rest of us have worked really hard to be non-confrontational in Crawford. In the beginning it was really touch and go and slowly we have been winning them over to see we are not a bunch of rabble rousing, long-haired, hippie left over's.

Help us to maintain that image.

The population of this town are in between a rock and a hard place.

It is a very devisive time and we do all we can to play that down. We are not here to divide. We exist to try and bring everyone together, we have lots more in common than what we disagree upon.

No offense, I'm not trying to slam you, but I think you're really over-reaching here.
