many americans, none included here, are still under the illusion that the current crowd of crazies in charge are just a temporary turn to the right and in a few years after the next elections, they'll all just fade away quietly. quite wrong.

people who can play checkers and chew skoll at the same time can plainly see where the neocons are going while they're at the helm, and it ain't to disneyland.

all i know is, they are evil personified, and no good at all is what they have planned for us and the world.

think a country should be run. It also sort of goes like in a wave. People will get sick of it and things will change. That you can count on.I do not think a great country like this can be put our of action with a few nut cases in DC. I do think we will slowly move into more of an average country and other countries will move up into the new great countries. It has always been like that so I see no reason to think it will not keep doing it.

...that the neocons have perched us on. I agree that there seem to be many who are still leaning over itching to jump, though.

It's really been sad and disturbing for me these last few years--I'd always known that there was a dark side to this country, but I don't think I ever realized just how populated that dark side is!

I'd say there is a base of about 30% of this country that is just so wacked out with fear and loathing that they really would gladly go down a path similar to the one Germany went down in the 30s.

I never would have thought something like that about 30% of the people in this country five years ago. I can only hope for the sake of humanity that the 70% of Americans who aren't like that start doing their job of keeping the other 30% in check.
