Anyone heard from Lila Lipscomb lately?
She was the mother of another lost soldier from Flint, Michigan interviewed by Michael Moore in Fahrenheit 9/11.

Has she made any kind of statement or anything? In fact, I really haven't heard from her in the news at all since the election.

I certainly understand if she does not feel comfortable coming to Crawford. It's her decision and she has more than earned the right to keep her own counsel as to what she chooses to do.

3. Someone else posed this question a day or two ago, no answer
As I recall this was a poor working woman. It is not always feasible for people to take time off work. It can be expensive to travel ...

I have no idea what has become of Lila Lipscomb but I hope she's OK.

9. dunno... here is what was said in a nutshell
"... Lila Lipscomb who described herself as a conservative democrat which is, ya know, a Republican..."

She also said she didn't like Michael Moore. She enjoys his movies but thinks Moore is (i believe the words she used were) pompous and full of himself.

Did she attack two Democrats in the same spill?

(Disclaimer - I adore Randi - but I'm just askin'!)

12. so? People can have different opinions-such is life
I love moore's movies and his lifes work too but he does get pompous and full of himself. So what. Without a hefty ego he probably wouldn't be able to do what he does.

15. I like Randi too, but she can be quite pompous and full of herself.
That's a little of the pot calling the kettle black.

Frankly I have never met Michael Moore but he does not come across that way to me.
He seems much more polite, certainly than Randi, and the way she treats many of her callers.

Rep. Conyers hugs Lila Lipscomb.

"We Need the Truth": Downing Street Anniversary Sparks Demand for Investigation
By Joel Wendland
7-24-05, 8:52 am

(excerpt)

Lila Lipscomb, the mother of a career Army sergeant killed in Iraq and featured in the popular anti-war documentary, Fahrenheit 9/11 by Michael Moore, added her call for an end to the war.

After thanking Conyers for honoring her son with his courage in taking up this fight, Lipscomb criticized the administration for deceiving the public and for claiming to know what is best for us. She asked the attentive audience, "Aren’t you tired of being treated like you’re stupid and don’t know anything?"

It seems Ms Lipscomb is fighting the good fight in her own way and on her own terms.

Good for her!

17. if she's keeping a low profile, she's doing the right thing
This is a protest headed by Cindy. Lila's probably staying out of her way out of respect for Cindy, and to keep the attention focused on Cindy.

but I haven't heard anything about her since then. She was very inspiring when she spoke. I am a little surprised she hasn't shown up in Crawford.
