The Arlington West Crosses at Camp Casey Mean a Lot to Many Folks
Edited on Fri Aug-12-05 06:26 PM by leftchick
I hope they stay there for a very long time. And I am pissed that this NEVER gets covered on US 'News"! :grr:

Wearing his Marine fatigues, former Marine corporal Mike McNeil, of Ft. Worth, looks at a name on one of the crosses lining the side of the road leading to President Bush's ranch near Crawford, Texas, Friday, Aug. 12, 2005. McNeil, who served in the first Gulf War, says he plans to read each name on the crosses for the soldiers killed in Iraq to show support for their families. (AP Photo/LM Otero)

Barbara Porchia of Camden, Ark. stands on the roadside near the President Bush's ranch in Crawford, Texas, Friday, Aug. 12, 2005. Porchia's son, Pfc. Johnathan Cheathham, died at age 19 when his convoy was attacked west of Baghdad. (AP Photo/LM Otero)

Jane Prewitt, right, of Burmingham, Ala. and Dante Zappala, of Philadelphia, Pa., comfort each other after an emotional prayer at Camp Casey near Crawford, Texas, Friday, Aug. 12, 2005. Prewwit's son Kelly Prewitt and Zappala's brother Sheerwood Baker were both killed in Iraq. (AP Photo/LM Otero)

1. He's got a foot on the road
do you think the sheriff would dare do anything about it?

I hope the vets go to the anti-Cindy protest in Crawford and tell the truth-would the repukes dare say anything back to them?

If we had a real media in the USA this would have made a great segment tonight on the sacrifices of so many for NOTHING but Lies.

14. This may be old news
the crosses arrived with three people who traveled from Ca. They worked their butts off placing them with the help of hard working volunteers. The display brought me to tears. There is a guest book floating around...someone usually is in charge of traveling it around getting sigs...My observation of what is needed....Volunteers! and supporters in general

9. Is There A List Of All Family Members Who've Been There?
Great pics...I sense the pain, but I also feel a solidarity by seeing them that gives a sense of warmth.

It appears the corporate media (CNNServative, MSGOP, Faux) are trying to obscure Cindy's purpose by countering with other families who have also lost family members and have a contrary opinion. The perception is there's as many against Cindy as there are in favor (and some will say the reports are skewed to make Cindy look like the "lunatic").

I'm wondering if there's a guest book or list of the families who have come out to stand with Cindy and the name of their loved ones who perished. I'm sure there are a lot of families that would like to be represented and I would like to help them come forward. They shouldn't feel coward in their grief...and our troops should see there's compassion here for them and their families...not lies and false hopes.

Peace...

11. I agree
The corporate owned media in the US would NEVER show these photos or interview these folks. They are going out of their way to find bush loyalists who have lost loved ones to say "we must complete the mission". :puke:

13. That's so sweetly sad...
The horror and anguish they have gone through and it will never be over just lessened a little.

19. Wouldn't it be wonderful
To have someone from say, CBS news, interview the folks in these photos mourning the loss of their loved ones? And have it shown on the nightly news? That would bring it all home for Americans that Cindy is not alone in her grief.

<sigh>
