TWO NEW GAY EXECUTIONS SCHEDULED IN IRAN, SAYS IRANIAN EXILE GROUP
BY DOUG IRELAND

FULL STORY: http://pageoneq.com/news/2005/IRAN_GAY_EXECUTIONS_D0812.html

In the last 24 hours I've been in toch with Farhad Hoseini of the International Federation of Iranian Refugees (IFTR), who reports that two gay men -- Farbod Mostaar and Ahmad Chooka -- have been tried and sentenced to be executed for homosexuality on August 38, in the Iranian city of Arak. As soon as i got the first e-mail alerting me to this new set of scheduled executions, I placed a call its sender, the IFTR's Hoseini, who is part of the IFTR secretariat in The Netherland. He told me that he and the IFTR had received the information about these scheduled new gay executions from members of the families of the two men whose death at the hands of the Islamic Republic of Iran has been programmed. Hoseini asserted that the men were to be killed for consensual homosexual acts with each other -- such acts are punishable by death in the Islamic Republic. But he had very little other information -- he promised to get me more.

9. I'm with you. Robertson would love to see that kind of threat put out
here. They want biblical law according to their bible. It is despicable, but I don't believe for a minute world opinion will sway their decision.

6. Oh, and are they also throwing babies out of incubators?
Is this supposed to inflame the left into wanting to invade Iran, now?

Who is going to die to stop these crimes?

My priority is on enhancing civil rights for gays in my country, the United States of America.

These executions are barbaric and unfortunate, but in the end, they are the problem of the Iranian people to resolve, not ours.

I move more and more toward the isolationist camp every day.

7. I'm leery of "exile" groups.
They are the very same type of group that brought us stories to excuse our first invasion of Iraq, this invasion or Iraq, and every trumped up attack on foreign soil.

11. Inciting Public Sentiment for Iranian Invasion
Nice caps by the way bub. Funny thing... the people doing the executions act just like the religious right wing here in the US. If they get their way with our government, they'll be doing the same as the Iranians.

Both are religious extremists.

Now turn down the caps!

12. Date Correction
August 28th, not 38th.

(I must have been in W's alternate reality)

I am not gay and have known only one gay person that i know of in my life...Female, casual for a short time, never really got to know her

BUT/////

Take notice America...the more and more we persecute people simply because of their sexual orientation the more we slide down the slippery slope to where we are no better than IRAN.

I abhor religious fundamentalism, because it projects hatred onto human beings---in this case gays and lesbians. My wife is anti-gay, but she's really moderated her views as I really battled with her with the first line of defense

-why is it any of our damn business what they do?
-how does two women getting married affect IN ANY WAY whatsoever our marriage?
-don't we have more important things to worry about than if two women love each other?

Come on....She's slowly starting to see the light, but its been a long battle because I am not "involved" in the gay rights movement. I'm a Liberal and pro-gay rights, but it certainly isn't the Liberal issues in which I am involved.

That being said each gay person who lives in fear of the American taliban and who can't exercise basic civil rights my heart is with you.
