Proper Etiquette For Honking @ Dems/Anti-Bushies?

I commute 40 minutes into work daily in North Carolina. I've come upon a new problem, as well as an intriguing observance.

1. Slowly but surely W stickers are coming off cars. Many fewer are seen with them on my morning commute than even a month ago.

2. Now I even sometimes see Dem/Anti-Bush stickers! "Support our troops. Impeach Bush" and Kerry/Edwards ones are the most recent.

I don't have any markings on my car. I'm just that way plus, where I work, if I let my politics hang out here in the deep south it could be bad.

But how do I let these people who do let it all out know I think they rock? I usually honk 3 short times and I give 'em a thumbs up as I pass, but I always fear they won't see it right and will think I'm giving them the bird.

Your take? Those of you with stickers, what do you get? (And like?)

1. this is easy........

print out what you want to say, and adhere it to a piece of cardboard. Now when the time is right hold up the sign.....make it short and sweet and print it in about font size 100-120 so they can read it. My favorite is "F-Bush, and you too!!".......that of course is for the dwindling number of W-'04 stickered cars I see here in OHIO. Love to see their reactions...if pissed, I just smile and keep holding it up (with the window rolled up of course). BTW, most back way off.

But I should print out nice things for the Anti-Bush folks...

I love seeing these guys. I mean, here in such a red state... I just wanna hug 'em.

If I put "I JUST WANNA HUG YOU" on a large sign, they'd probably back off too. ;-)

4. How about a simple sign that says something like....

Love your stickers
or
Great bumper stickers
or
I'm with you
or
Hate Bush here too!
or
Peace!
or
Make a little thumbs up sign :thumbsup:

Just some thoughts. If you have too much on a sign you could cause and accident! :cry:
I have lots of stuff on my car, and I like it when someone shows support. I had a grandma one time practically stalk me at the school I work at. She was laying in wait for me one day when I got to work. She said, "Aha....so it's you who drives this car. I've been waiting to see who it was." She really startled me. I thought she was going to read me the riot act. Instead she smiled broadly, gave me the thumbs up and said, "I love it! Good for you, and it's all so true. Thanks!" It really was a nice way to start my day!
