Gallagher met and married Denise when he was working in Greenville, SC, during the 1990s. Denise was known as being quite liberal then and, from what I've heard recently, she still is.

The four boys they have are Denise's, and I believe that the oldest did join the military in 2002. I don't know his current status in military.
