Cindy Sheehan : Magna cum laude and a challenge to the world
For seven days now
one single mother
is keeping hope alive
in a ditch in texas.

But she is not alone - witness the press conference from Crawford
.

Compare & contrast to the US pResident's not-so-coincidental appearance in another Crawford ditch. I do not have to link it for you, it has been all over the media. Cindy Sheehan is not-so-coincidentally much less covered. For now.

Her points are brought with the calm strong tone of truth.
His are a jammering repeat of old talking points.
She is asking questions. Brings up the DSM.
He is answering none. Makes war on a noun.

There have been those who argued that once Cindy would get company, her cause would be diluted and it would lose the greek tragedy quality that has given the story it's legs.
Others argued the power of numbers.

There ARE a lot more people in Crawford (this generation's Woodstock badly needs a good band to come over and play) but they do not dilute her cause. It only seems Cindy's cause is not an isolated one.

Someone in the peace camp decided on the question of 1 or many. And decided it in exactly the right way. Same message from several people. To those who decided on the format of the press conference, I say magna cum laude, you have mastered public relations. Not that it is that hard with the truth in your support. :-)

The world, I challenge to look at this and not

FEEL

the groundswell

of truth to power.

Good evening truthseekers!

3. Welcome aboard!
You've missed some pretty exciting times here at DU, but there are more to come - unfortunately. There's a Chinese curse: "May you live in interesting times." And we sure do.

6. Great article.
And it's true, Belgian. Cindy Sheehan is NOT alone. She actually stands for the vast majority of Americans, some 288,000,000, who are tired of not getting any straight answers, no plans, no solid progress in Iraq.

People are really getting tired of the spin. Cindy is really putting a voice to that. So when Bush gets out there and makes an impromptu statement, he's really addressing the American public.

Just about every parent with kids, whether of draft age or younger, looks to her to see how she deals with these issues.

It's only a matter of time before Americans get fed up with this because he's not doing anything. He's just pleading for patience, for time. Patience for what? Time to do what? There's nothing new here. He refuses to set a timetable for withdrawal. Troops are steadily dying, and he refuses to come up with some sort of solution.

I read once that the ONLY people the Bush administration is afraid of, it the Americans. They're not afraid of foreigners, certainly not Iraqis.

Welcome to the DU, Lux 0101. You'll find answers here, like I did. :toast:

8. DID YOU PEOPLE ACTUALLY READ THAT SITE?
It's pro-war, RW, portrays Cindy as wrong-headed.

But I am not leaving this land because the bad guys are not going to leave us or you to live in peace. They are the same ones who flew the planes to kill your people in New York.
I ask you in the name of God or whatever you believe in; do not waste your son's blood.
We here have decided to avenge humanity, you and all the women who lost their loved ones.
Take a look at our enemy Cindy, look closely at the hooded man holding the sword and if you think he's right then I will back off and support your call.

Your son sacrificed his life for a very noble cause…No, he sacrificed himself for the most precious value in this existence; that is freedom.

His blood didn't go in vain; your son and our brethren are drawing a great example of selflessness.
God bless his free soul and God bless the souls of his comrades who are fighting evil.
God bless the souls of Iraqis who suffered and died for the sake of freedom.
God bless all the freedom lovers on earth.

11. Oops - sorry, Jackpine.
I meant "the summary of the article". I didn't go to the web site - curse their flea-bitten hides.

Normally, I read about 75% of all the links. Thanks for the heads-up.
