OK, why do Freepers hate America?
I have been pondering this for ages. WHY?

They want limits on free speech.

They want to destroy Writ of Habeas Corpus.

They want to destroy the Fourth Ammendment.

They want to destroy the power of Congress to Declare War.

They want to destroy the Right to Vote.

They want to destroy freedom of religion.

They want a White America.

WHY? What would motivate somebody to so hate the very foundations of the system the Founding Fathers left us with?

And why are they so angry now that they actually run the whole damned country due to their treason and sedition?

1. Beats me.
However, I think they think, this is what being patriotic is about. The ghouls in power now have defined patriotism for them much like the Nazis did in Germany.

Too bad we can't get too many of them to read, then it would be possible to distribute literature on the matter. I don't think they would read it though because they are too busy listening to what the hate mongers, Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Hannity et al tell them they are supposed to think to be real true blue Americans.

4. They don't hate america.
They just hate the constitution and the non-aryan/anglo citizens.

There's a difference there, ya know.

They really love the flag - though truth be told they prefer that other old one with the stars and bars. And they love jesus, who if he hadn't died 1800 years too soon, would have been a great american.

7. I disagree. America IS the Consitution.
Nothing else is worthwhile.

The flag could be an old rag as far as I am concerned, as long as the Constitution is intact.

12. They don't love the flag
or they wouldn't treat it so badly. They love people to think they love the flag. If they really loved the flag, they wouldn't drag it behing their pickups, or let 6 of them shred in the wind while being displayed on their pickups, or diaper their inbred brats with the flag, or wear the flag on their head, or deface the flag by writing on it (hear that, you chicken cowboy scumbag?). They don't love the flag, they love the idea that someone thinks they love the flag.

15. Yup. They were vulnerable as were many of the German people.
Some of it involved peer pressure, some of it humility from WWI, some was about economic hardship; in other words, there were numerous different aspects which contributed to a vulnerability which their leadership exploited.

6. They mistake rigidity for strength
They are fearful people. They are the same people who feared Communism in the 50's, immigrants in the 1800's, women throughout history. They listen to and believe the lies of those who perpetuate those fears, those whose aims are simply unlimited power and vast amounts of money. They fear flexibility, seeing it as a weakness rather than a strength.

Besides, I'd be willing to bet that very few of them have EVER actually read the Constitution or would understand it if they did. They can quote the second amendment and that's about it and only because they read it in the American Rifleman.

29. You are so right
They really do hate us for our freedom. If you think about it, everything they hate about us boils down to our freedom. Freedom to express ourselves (protest, freedom of the press, etc.) freedom to love who we want (including gays), freedom to control our own bodies (abortion, sex, the way we dress, etc.) Freedom FROM their pet religion. Freedom to deviate from what they consider the "norm" (ie. using marijuana instead of beer and pharmaceuticals, prefering to read rather than watch TV...you know how they hate those intellectuals.) They truly and honestly hate us for our freedom, which is why they use that line so much pertaining to middle-easterners. It's something they understand.

Edited on Sat Aug-13-05 02:39 PM by Catholic Sensation
anyone. How about instead of being incendiary towards those we disagree with, we point out how our personal policies, like healthcare for all of America, American companies paying American taxes, etc. are generally better for this country than healthcare only for those with the money to afford it and tax havens for those who can afford it. Unless we focus on the issues and make the country see how our policies are better, "I see a loss in '06 unless we can turn this around NOW."

Looking after some of my copyrights that were being violated, (hotlinked copyrighted images) and noticed them accusing Gruntled of being me. They obviously did not want me around though, as they promptly banned me!

Funny thing is that about a third of their threads seemed to be about me lately. So I must be getting under their skin pretty totally. Good. I'll continue to piss them off in any way I can.

Gruntled probably is a Troll over there, though, as he seems to not be "party line". Any deviation from the hive mind over there is Verboten. And God Forbid that you agree with anything a DUer says!

20. but we focus so much energy on anger towards the other side
let's ignore them for the time being and use the energy spent on vitriol towards "freepers" on getting our message out. I don't think there are any actual statistics for this, but how many Americans without health insurance voted for Bush? Easily over three million, which was his margin of victory in the popular vote. If we had spent more time and energy explaining how they wouldn't have to shit their pants if something bad healthwise happened had Kerry been able to get his similar to sweden's healthcare proposal, a bunch of those people might have been convinced to vote for Kerry. But instead a lot of our campaign had to do with why Bush sucks as opposed to why Kerry was clearly better.

21. Well,...
,...we certainly should avoid allowing their hatred to disease our causes. However, during particularly vitriolic times like this, with attacks on Cindy and the Gold Star Mothers' who are taking a stand against an administration that betrayed and exploited all of us, I believe it's imperative that we draw a line and sting the vicious, character-batterizing monsters with as many mirrors and garlic and crosses as we can possibly conjure. :P

22. they feed off knowing they're getting under our skin
the people who go there, hurl vicious attacks at people like Cindy are mosquitos, and for them to have any reason for existing, they have to get under our skin. If we ignore them and focus on the objective, we win. Far too often our "objective" seems to have been "tell the American public how stupid their President is" instead of "tell the American public how the policies of the Democratic Party are better for this country by and large than the policies of the Republican Party". I know smashmouth insults make for lively punditry debates, but they don't help.

28. Actually, IMHO, they have mastered the art of bullying.
You surely acknowledge that is has been their nastiness (character-assasinations) which actually got them into power. We can no longer just ignore such things. Now, on the street, there are some bullies you can ignore and they will go away. Others, you have to take a firm stand or they will roll right over you. Still others merely require non-violent confrontation about their ugliness.

But, I have to tell you my opinion that, with respect to the regime & Co presently bullying and exploiting our people, they MUST be confronted and held FULLY accountable. Ignoring or playing nice just won't work.

31. In some cases yes their nastiness has gotten them into power
but there are plenty of other reasons they manage to get more votes than us. The Republican Party has mastered the art of religious demagoguery, by giving them during campaigns promises of anti-gay marriage amendments, etc. and doing nothing afterwards. They've mastered the art of making it seem like raising taxes on the rich actually hurts the poor. And their messages are so convoluted and stupid that we spend more time explaining how they're convoluted and stupid that we forget to explain that our policies are better.

I'd rather see debate come back to this country than constant fighting.

Maybe I am gruntled, maybe you are gruntled and are just trying to throw the others off of your scent. Of course, they accused Elad of being gruntled too. And, fyi, I have read that other place, they like to mock my posts to piss me off. They fail in that effort, they don't realize that mockery from them is high praise to anyone who cares about the nation, it means we are a threat to them and their lies and their hate. By coming here to DU and finding threads and posts to mock, they just prove themselves to be pitifully, small minded and bored individuals. Maybe when they grow up, they can have opinions of their own that are not based on bashing and hating DUers.

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms.
