I got an email response from the "journalist" who slammed Cindy
Edited on Sat Aug-13-05 03:55 PM by ailsagirl
in the Vacaville newspaper.

Dear XXX,

Thank you for reading my column and sending your thoughts. I appreciate your time. I know the pain of losing a child, so I have great empathy for Mrs. Sheehan. I believe she is misguided. I support her First Amendment rights. I also support what Casey thought was proper for his parents to do when they met President Bush.

This was not an illegal war. I have spoken to pilots who were used for target practice before we went to war with Saddam the second time. It is ignorant to believe that it was OK for Saddam to saw heads off of people while thumbing his nose at United Nations laws saying he had to disarm - and prove it. History shows this is a just war. It is a tragedy that humans must die.

By the way, check the news today. Seems they found mass quantities of chemicals in northern Iraq. Oh, I know. Some folks will say the Syrians slipped them into the country after the fall of Baghdad. Did the Syrians also bring them in to gas the Kurds.

Please do me a favor and don't assume you know me by a few articles. I will not assume that you are historically challenged

By the way, way are you from? Do you personally know Mrs, Sheehan?
Thank you again for your time.

God Bless You,
Catherine

BTW, this was my email to her:

Dear Ms. Moy,

You're all heart, you know that? It's comforting to know there are
people like you who think Cindy Sheehan is not justified in her quest.
How would you like to lose a son in an illegal war? Maybe one day,
people of your ilk will see the light but I have my doubts. If you
haven't after 4 1/2 years of this fascist government, you probably
never will.

Good luck to you. You'll need it.

8. I sent in an LTTE to her paper..
http://www.thereporter.com/search/ci_2936053

http://www.thereporter.com/letters/ci_2940865

I was heartbroken for Cindy when I came across two
pieces in your paper about her that show no compassion
for her situation in any way. (Nancy Smith 8/13 and
Catherine Moy 8/12)

So to balance that I am writing from all the way over
here in Maine to tell you all that I love Cindy
Sheehan. I heard her speak at a Fair here in my area
and when she read the poem her daughter wrote in
memory of Casey I couldn't hold back my tears.

The local women who wrote about Cindy had a lot to say
about her, none of it good. But have they met her?
Spent time with her? Do they know the good she has
done in the world as a youth minister or how the son
she lost followed in her footsteps to also do good in
the world?

How can they uphold her noble son and yet excoriate
one of the people most responsible for molding him
into who he was? They should thank her for raising up
such a wonderful young man. Then they should grieve at
his passing with her. Even if they do not agree with
her questions about his death (and what loving mother
would not ask "Why?!") is it really necessary to trash
and degrade her in this way?

20. Here is a real piece of irony for you. These people were once the
masters of the iron fist in velvet glove technique. I lived for years with gentle chastisement for not agreeing with their way of thinking. "Just pray on it. The Holy Spirit will guide you." their stock answer in trade.

Now, they have lost their patience and their faith that God would speak to people who feel differently. They spew venom the likes of which I could never hear passing from the lips of the Lord unless He was speaking to Pharisees and money changers in the temple.

So, I have taken on their old tactic. I will use a velvet glove with all of my punches.

79. Thanks for the Link to Chemical Story....It's Soap!
What a joke! The chemicals found were glycerin, sodium hydroxide and ethanol sulfate.

Glycerin is a natural by-product of the soap making process. Commercial manufacturers remove the glycerin for use in lotions creams, etc. My wife uses glycerin to handcrafted all of the soap that we use. We haven't purchased soap from a store in over 10 years.

Sodium hydroxide is used to make other chemicals. It is widely used in making soaps and detergents. It is used as a reagent for pollution control systems to absorb HCL and SO2, and it is also used in producing textiles, making paper, and in etching aluminum.

I'm not sure about ethanol sulfate, but it sounds to me like the Kurds were just making SOAP! Ha! Ha!

3. I did too...I will add mine to the list...
Hi,

You didn't include your name in your note, so forgive my informality. Thank you for taking the time to comment and support Mrs. Sheehan's Constitutional rights. I pray for her everyday, even though she asked me last year not to pray for her because she is no longer a Christian. NonChristians need prayers, too, so I'll keep praying as are many of my Catholic brethren.
I am trying to get up enough money to fly to Texas. The flights are expensive and I don't make much money. I also don't have groups backing me and would not accept money from any group. Thank you for the invitation.
I try to keep up with Mrs. Sheehan by reading her own words. She and I disagree on much, but we both want what's best for this country.
I will continue to pray for Mrs. Sheehan, her son's soul, her family and the world.
Thank you again for your time.

God Bless You,
Catherine Moy

I won't really say what I wrote her (I go for the jugular) :)

But I did mock her so-called "christianity", and suggested that maybe it was the fact she wasn't very happy at home was the reason she was taking her shrillness and bitterness out on innocent people.

I also (when she sought to teach me about the First Amendment) let her know that she was really one to talk, wasn't she? Though, I wasn't very polite. :)

I questioned her background, parentage, things like that. I don't know, I snapped after she asked me what planet I was born on. :silly:

No one is even close to making that claim. Don't know what they even have. The insurgents are the ones who were running it. Also where was she when the weapons inspectors had to be pulled from Iraq so we could start a war? Talk about thumbing your nose at the United Nations we went and started a war no one agreed with except for the few we blackmailed into supporting. If she doesn't believe the war is an illegal war then let Bush stand trial for it. He shouldn't have any problems being exonerated. And the arrogance of her to say she knows what Casey thought was proper about his parents meeting Bush. She lives with her head up her ass. She must like the view and the smell.

15. some points
1. The pilots were not used for "target practice". Memorandum just came out a week or so back showing that those charges were trumped-up.

2. If the US really did find chemicals used for weapons (dubious new claim, as of this writing), they were found in the north, as in No Fly Zone. It wouldn't have been Saddam making weapons, since he didn't have control of that part of the country. If, instead, chemicals are being produced by insurgents, this clearly had nothing to do with Saddam, i.e., not a justification for war. Matter of fact, we created the insurgency.

3. Is it ok for our friends the Saudis to saw peoples' heads off? Is it ok for our friends in Israel to thumb their noses at UN resolutions?

4. We wouldn't let the UN verify that Iraq had no WMD. We ran them out of the country so that we could destroy it.

5. History does no such thing as showing that this is a "just" war. The onus is on this airhead to support her unsupportable claim. Just where are those weapons of mass destruction, Christine?

I think you need to respond to this person with overwhelming logic. Pound her into the ground with it, she can't stand up to it because truth just isn't on her side.

21. OH..well now we wouldn't want to confuse
an ideologue with contradictory facts.

Since we already know that we were bombing military targets months before the war, she must be whining about the audacity of the Iraqi military to fire a SAM at a jet over their own territory.

Perhaps she can explain why the United States set a better example when our entire air defenses failed as four jumbo jets headed to target areas in our country.

93. According To This CNN Article, The Site Was Abandoned Six Weeks Ago
So unless Saddam has been making chemicals while out on weekend leave, it does not sound like this is his stuff. If anything, it sounds like the insurgency that is in it's last throes were dabbling in chemical weapons.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=post&forum=104&topic_id=4340339&mesg_id=4340443

He said not enough information indicates the site, which appeared to have been abandoned six weeks ago, was a chemical weapons facility.

. . .

Task Force Freedom, which is based in Mosul, conducted raids Tuesday using information obtained in detainee interrogations, according to a military news release.

Notice she has lots of inferences about "knowing what it's like to lose a child"..without referencing that. . .which typifies the Right. She made other questionable statements, but was obviously so wrapped up in the idea cultural warrior mindset that she had to take a swipe at you rather than explain her position.

If there is one sign you are dealing with a wingnut, it's the complete lack of manners followed by the hollow "God bless you."

Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against
you falsely, for my sake.
Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets
which were before you.

That ought to get her going.

36. "Historically challenged"? She doesn't know where Hussein's
original chemical weapons came from, and she's calling *you* historically challenged?

Then she says Hussein was "thumbing his nose" at UN resolutions demanding he "disarm and prove it". But he *was* disarmed, and released thousands of documents in an attempt to prove it. If I recall correctly, the right-wingers claimed that such a huge amount of documentation was proof that Hussein was hiding WMD and attempting to stall.

What an idiot.

38. What an idiot. WE SOLD them the gas they used on the Kurds and we
encouraged the Kurds to overtrhow Saddam, then left them on their own. The Iraq war was planned way before 9-11, if Saddam was such a threat why didn't Poppy take him out? Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11 or Al Qaeda, admitted by the administration, and Saddam was contained for many years.

We were flying illegally in a no-fly zone trying to provoke Saddam into going to war. The UN weapons inspectors, as well as Scott Ritter and others knew there were no wmds. The DSM tells us that intelligence was being FIXED to justify the war.

What does it matter where you live? If you have even half a brain you can see through the lies and deceit of the neo-cons no matter if you are from California or Jesusland.

This woman is a condescending bitch, who will most likely have her own program on Faux news.

45. Another VERY INTERESTING email exchange with her
This one was between nofurylike and PoohDoo. Notice our Duer practiced PEACE. Cindy's peace. MLKing's peace.
I need to take lessons! nofurylike has invited her to go to Crawford.

nofurylike:
'either you're with us - right or WRONG - or you're a terrorist'
So sad.

I cannot hope that you will listen to what I would say if I thought you would hear
me.

I know that Cindy Sheehan is juuuuuuust Casey's mother; juuuuust the person who
created him.....

I grope for words that could reach you, open your heart.

Sad.

PooDoo:
Thank you for spending time to write. I know the pain of losing a child, losing my brother and parents. As President Clinton said "I feel Mrs. Sheehan's pain." I truly do. I pray for her daily.

I, of course, hear and listen to all people who take the time to write. Humans disagree and, in our Republic, it is a time-honored tradition protected by the Constitution to air those disagreements. What I do not like is name calling. A lot of Mrs. Sheehans supporters use horrible language. I'm sure it is just emotions, but it is unbecoming. It only hurts Mrs. Sheehan's cause.

So I appreciate your words and the fact that you left your name.

Thank you and God Bless You,
Catherine Moy

nofurylike:
I am deeply sorry for your loss! Thank you for sharing that with me.
Thank you for your kind reply to my letter. I can feel your compassion in your comments.
You know, I feel certain that if you were to go and visit with those at "Camp Casey," you would be surprised. You are right that many have let their anger get control of their mouths, but many of them have left because they are expected to leave their angry language at the door, in deference to Cindy Sheehan's dignity.

Still, I would like you to consider: have you, personally, ever been angry and frustrated to the point of swearing, or raging? We are in the position of not only being correct that this war was waged on false pretenses - knowingly false, at that - but also that our amazing, courageous, dedicated sons and daughters in service, are needlessly DYING!! Oh help us, that agony!!
Now look at the tone of media, mainstream media, really. Look at what you yourself wrote, I'm sorry to 'throw it in your face' - please believe me, I see you are a compassionate person, who I misjudged, personally.
We are the ones called "America Haters"?

Urgent to stop even one more unjustifiable death - death! - we are continually forced to stop and choke on the names we are called, the mechanisms used by our opposition who do not seem to care that, while they are putting us down, and we are trying to get the debate back on track, more of our dear, beloved children are dying - DYING!!
So, we can fall apart and swear.
You see, it appears that reasoning, even LAW, is not reaching those it must reach.
Please, please, won't you go talk with the courageous, dedicate people at Camp Casey? They really do clarify far better than I possibly could...

PoohDoo:
Thank you for your words. I will remember to pray for you and your losses. If I could afford to go to Texas, I would do it. I would like to see Mrs. Sheehan again. I wish her well. I hope that, someday, we will know the truth about this war and whether this government or prior governments misled us intentionally.

Thanks again.

nofurylike: Oh Catherine! Clearly, you are a kind-hearted, good-spirited person.
We do already know that they misled us. It is incontrovertible fact, and those dear, irreplaceable, courageously devoted young men and women are dying
dying. Perhaps your publisher would support your going to Crawford? I wish so.

Thank you for reading and considering. I know that you care.

PoohDoo: My publisher has already told me that they don't have the money. I will try to dig it up somewhere, but I must buy my child's school supplies, etc. Thank you again for your time and words.

46. Groupthink and Cognitive Dissonance
Firstly, it must be said, that no matter the op, your email was
"indelicate" and did sorta provoke a slam response, so in that sense,
her tone can be forgiven for responding in kind.

If "i" had written the op that you disagree with, and you had sent me
that email, i would have been upset by the tone and the presumption of
your message, and this would have stopped me from engaging your content,
as your message's tone puts the "reciever" at defense.

In that sense, having read both posts, Ms. Moy has bested the argument,
by being "more" polite in relative mud slinging. That she is full of
shit is another issue entirely, in that sense, she is drawing from
certain presumptions from which she draws apparent authority.

She has a job working to spin propaganda for a newspaper owner who wants
what all newspaper owners want. She is a bought opinion writer, and,
IMO, taking issue would best be done in the LTTE area, as then you can
express a more eloquent and consciencous POV without bothering with
a right wing schill slave. Outside of giving us some "propaganda" to
analyze, if your objective is to move the political earth by writing... why even bother with a slave.

That person will lose their house and medical care if they do not
defend the ideological fort. And this leaves them clinging in dreadful
clinging fear to the possibility that the bush presidency is not
what they were told, and any attempt to shake this image just
conjures up fear, groupthink denial and icy venom with god bless
you painted over "fuck you".

This person wants to believe that everything their country is about
is noble and good. The pathological need to believe this, is so
strong, that the person will overlook any POV to the contrary. To
say that iraq is a crime, is to say we are ruled by war criminals,
and that we are complicit. So, given the criminal pathology,
the person sticks to a story that defends their need to believe.

It is cognitive dissonance, based on the fear of a wage slave,
someone who would be a begger, but agreed to sell their committment
to "truth" out for shelter and some food. So rather than blame
another person who's sold out, turn round the telescope and look
back in to how we've sold out.

We've sold out by accepting "mediocrity" as our political center,
by supporting different lies, but lies just the same. And so,
two political sides, both sold out, fight over truth when neither
side is actually interested in truth, opinion, celebrity, short
lived, but not truth.

Truth is polite and less personal that either of those emails.

Thanks for posting that.

:-)

Here's the letter I sent her. I doubt I will get a reply.

You America-hating scum on the right crack me up. You'll say anything no matter how inane to back up the miserable punk you thugs voted for. Like him, you can never admit you made a mistake. It's a pathology; Ted Bundy, another Republican, had the same symptoms. He at least had the guts to kill close up, unlike the giggling murderer in the White House.

So, Cindy had the nerve to cross Casey's "blood relatives"? What the hell is she, a stranger from another planet? The combination of stupidity, viciousness, denial and fascism exhibited by today's Republicans makes me embarassed I was ever one. And I bet decent human beings like Barry Goldwater are rolling in their graves.

We need a 12-step program for you idiots. Step one: Admit you're an idiot and too stupid to be trusted with a vote. Step two: Admit you're powerless over your hatred, ignorance and viciousness. You get the idea.

I can't wait til we take back the country from fascist clowns like you and your idol, the giggling murderer. Here's a little current events quiz for you. Saddam Hussein was ____ percent responsible for Sept. 11, 2001. Any answer but zero means you have to stay after school and actually read something, instead of drooling over liars like O'Reilly and Hume.

62. Here's my exchange with the lying whore-for-Bush
Congratulations on your appalling smear of Cindy Sheehan. I wonder
how it feels to bear false witness against a grieving mother.

I particularly like how you refer to Cindy's "family" opposing her -
by referring to Casey's aunt and some cousins - while ignoring the
fact that Cindy's husband and remaining children fully support her.
Since when do cousins bear greater weight as "family" than the nuclear
family conservatives claim to value?

I remember a time when Republicans were good people with values they
stuck to - my father was one of them. These days there is no value
the GOP will not cast aside without hesitation in exchange for a bit
more power. To the GOP of today, fiscal responsibility is a joke,
ethics are an inconvenience and the family of a dead soldier is a
scapegoat. How fortunate my father was to have passed away before the
party he loved turned into this.

For you, Catherine Moy, I can only pray for God to rid you of your
hate, and let you speak what in your heart you know is true: this war
was justified by falsehoods, the occupation is nothing less than a
disaster and your leader is a coward who would not serve in his own
time and dishonors those he sends to their deaths today.

May God bless you and forgive you.

Joe Mondo

----------------------------------------

Dear Joe,

Thank you so much for your kind words. I appreciate your prayers more than you know. It was painful and difficult to write my column. I am not full of hate. I am full of love, for Cindy and her family. By the way, don't forget that Casey's grandmother and grandfather also signed that letter.
You do not know me at all, you only know one article. I have written thousands. Do your homework.
I will pray for you, too, Joe. I appreciate your sentiments. I hope your letter to me was not a result of a gang mentality on democraticunderground. Whew, Liberals can be a vicious lot.
Anyway, remember what Jesus said: You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.

Thanks again.
God Bless You,

Catherine Moy

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Your column was plainly not painful or difficult to write. If it were
you'd have written otherwise. Or perhaps the difficulty was something
known as a conscience, however diminished your might be.

I know, based on your repeated false witness of Cindy Sheehan, more
than enough to know you are hurting and in need of truth and love.
How sad that you don't even see how plain your lies and hatred are.

As we know, even the devil can quote scripture for his purposes, and
you are a case in point.

When you are prepared to speak the truth I know God will smile on you.
Until then, lose some weight and stay healthy so you don't go to
your grave with this evil on your soul.

Joe

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Joe,

Thanks for pointing out that Satan can quote scriptures. I had forgotten that until I read your so very intelligent letters. Hate will eat you up, so stay safe. As a minister, I have spent many hours with the sick and dying. I know something about the human spirit and the last breath one takes before facing God. Listen to your own words, Joe. Really listen.

And thanks for the tip on my weight. I do need to exercise more.

God Bless You,

Catherine

---------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm sorry you learned so little at the bedside of the dying. And more
sorry you learned so little as a minister.

I hope you can see how twisted you've become that you can demonize a
grieving mother whose son volunteered to defend his country. One
example: note how you insist I cannot know you based on one column.
Yet you wrote about what Casey Sheehan would want, as if you had
God's own insight into his soul. You see, the very thing you
castigate others for is a behavior you engage in freely.

What a pity.

While you may need to exercise your body more, it is your relationship
with truth that is out of shape.

What a pity.

But God will not force you to be truthful, Catherine. You have to be
willing to do it yourself. And with God's grace you someday will.

Oh my. We are her dreaded freepers of the night. Thuggish voices

You claim to be a writer, surely you can dispatch this thuggish

impunity whilst occupying their country. Her thuggery is imaginary
ghosts who write on DU, all the while supporting mass murder thuggery
with her faux christianty... something she parks at the door of her

Lady columist is afraid because she has been a very dishonest
christian in her writing profession... and she *knows* that
the karma will reap. Then we are heralds of the horesmen who
will trample her ego and bring her back to jesus.

70. Here's more - and it gets better!
I only know what Casey's mother said he would want.

You will remain in my prayers. You will know the truth.

------------------------------------------------------------

No, Catherine, you extrapolated from that to presume what he'd want.

And yet you fret over others believing they understand who you are
based on your own words.

I ask you to reflect on Jesus's lesson in Matthew:

Matt 7:3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye,
but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

Matt 7:4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote
out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam in thine own eye?

Matt 7:5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye;
and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy
brother's eye.

How sad that I must tell this to a minister. Clearly some are not
suited to serve God as ministers,, but are merely present day
Pharisees, and yet I must admit this is your case.

In closing let me remind you of one more thing: when Christ suffered
on the cross it was not his aunt or cousins who stayed at his side, it
was his mother Mary. And in Mary's fashion Cindy Sheehan is standing
by her son, while those like you play out the part of the Romans.

You have placed yourself on the wrong side of history and of God. I
pray for you.

100. Brilliant response
as the truth often is ~

As a minister, I would have thought she might also have been familiar with this 'thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor'.

I can't help wondering why she feels the need to hurt this mother? What is it to her if Cindy asks the POTUS some questions? Can George Bush not defend himself?

I hope God will enlighten her ~ she is very misguided, and terribly mis-informed. I would be more than willing to educate her on the origins of Saddam Hussein's chemical materials.

She won't like the truth, but it is all documented, incontrovertable that US companies, with the blessing of the Reagan/Bush administrations (the same old cabal, Rumsfeld, Cheney et al), sold Saddam Hussein an arsenal of dual purpose chemical materials even after the gassing of the Kurds.

Furthermore, they did it knowing that the US Senate unanamously passed the Anti-Genocide Act in 1988 which would have prevented those sales, but Reagan vetoed that bill. She might also want to read the Riegle Report from 1994 and Rumsfeld's testimony in particular.

Then she might want to read Rumsfeld's testimony before this war where he contradicted his own testimony re chemical materials before the Riegle committee in 1994. Because of his lies to Congress (they are on the record) the First Gulf War Veterans demanded his resignation.

I would also be willing to show her, with proof and documentation, why this war is illegal. I didn't think anyone was in doubt about that anymore.

I am astounded that ordinary people on a message board have done more research into these matters simply to be aware of the truth, than a columnist who, presumably gets paid for what she writes. I can see why she supports George Bush. She does not know the facts.

I wish she were a seeker of truth, rather than a blind follower of a president who after all, is merely an employee of the people of the US and subject to their review regarding the job he is doing. He is obligated therefore to answer honestly, the questions put to him by his employers. Cindy is one of those employers ~

I'll pray that her heart will be softened and that she will become a seeker of truth, like Cindy ~

116. Exactly
The "No-Fly Zones" were nowhere to be found in any UN resolution.

Catherine's innaccuracies in her e-mail correspondence are astounding. I don't know if she's a journalist or a columnist, but it's obvious that she's not well read.

Chemicals in Northern Iraq? Don't know what they were for yet, and since they were in Northern Iraq (I assume in a Kurdish controlled region), the site would've been out of Saddam's purview.

Catherine, like most of the right, conveniently forgets that inspectors were in country up until the war began, were not given a chance to finish their work, and were ordered to leave.

As for the "family" of Cindy Sheehan, I do believe Catherine has another "fact" wrong. In one of the posted e-mails she says Cindy's grandmother and grandfather spoke out against her. I seem to remember "godmother" and "godfather" when I originally read Drudge's insipid posting.

here is her email, I actually thought it was a nice email but I dont think she is a fan of DU.

HER EMAIL:

HI,

Thanks for writing and not cursing at me, like some of the other folks who have linked from Democraticundergound.
Nobody should be cursing at Cindy Sheehan. I support her right to stand out in front of the president's home for as long as she likes. I hope all people who support her rights also support mine to disagree with her and the majority of Americans on this war.
I appreciate your views.

God Bless You,
Catherine

I love America and offered to go to Iraq. Recruiters would not take me because I have been a diabetic since I was a child.

90. you have to keep reminding yourself: reporters are often not very bright
Edited on Sat Aug-13-05 11:05 PM by enki23
yes, the average reporter is probably brighter than the average american. barely, perhaps, but at least they're usually literate. this one, on the other hand, may qualify for outlier status.

don't expect much from most reporters. or most humans, for that matter. when it comes to humanity, it seems you can never set your expectations too fucking low to be disappointed.

anyway, these "mass quantities of chemicals" were, from the pictures, a little home-built basement lab of the tim-mcveigh-meets-high-school-chemistry sort. trying to connect this with a government which was supposed to have an oprational nuclear weapons program is a bit... fuzzy headed, don't you think? wouldn't you also think saddam could probably have sprung for a bit more than a car-radiator condenser, what with all money he was raking in from the oil-for-food cheating? right? i would think all those billions would have bought a better setup than i could have thrown together out of junk we had lying around the farmstead where i grew up.

i would think.

but then, i do. and that seems to put me on a different plane from that occupied by this particular vacaville reporter.

118. more or less
well, if you graph education on the x axis and critical thinking on the y... yeah. more or less. ;-)

but then, we're not supposed to be learning critical thinking anymore, only learning about jesus is important, and how to sell life insurance to each other.

this truly is the republican utopia, you know, hundreds of millions of white people in suburbs driving around in SUV's with jesus fish and yellow ribbons on the back selling life insurance to each other's barefoot and pregnant wives (whenever they aren't all at church or golfing).

and if we weren't all lazy bastards, it could come true!

95. moy's mention of a "chemical find" in Iraq is outrageosly stupid
sodium hydroxide, gylcerine are house-hold chemicals. (read: drano and a moisturizing agent, food ingredient, and humectent) and the fact that the "expert" US Army official mentioning that they "could be" converted into chemical warfare agents is plain crazy bullshit.

if we are stretching the truth that much, he could have said that ammonia and chlorox bleach were duel-purpose binary chemical warfare agents, since mixing them make chloramine, a gas used in WWI.

why i am sure thousands of homes in iraq have them in the cupboard.

98. Mass
quantities of chemicals in northern Iraq huh? Would she be referring to this article?

U.S. forces raid suspected chemical facility
Military says testing under way, unsure what insurgents were producing

BAGHDAD, Iraq - U.S. forces raided an insurgent facility that may have been producing an unspecified type of chemicals, the U.S. military said Saturday.

<snip>
However, the military cautioned that ongoing testing at the facility was "insufficient to determine what the insurgents had been producing." The military said the military was also investigating which insurgent group was operating the facility.

I don't think I would call that "finding mass quantities of chemicals". And if there are chemicals, the military is saying they were being produced by INSURGENTS. Not by Saddam. Send her back the entire article and ask her if she needs your help with the big words because she obviously didn't read about this at all or she is incredibly stupid if "finding mass quantities of chemicals" is what she got from it.

103. Here's her response to mine and my reply
Of course, fascists like you cannot debate seriously. Your god will punish you for your hypocrisy. You attack a woman who in all good faith, and by the way, she WAS a Republican, just like I WAS a republican, for asking why her son was murdered. Can you tell me one reason why Iraq was attacked instead of the truly dangerous countries like North Korea, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia (where nearly all the terrorists came from) or whatever else the giggling murderer could come up with?

I call him the giggling murderer because of his interview with Tucker Carlson when he was asked if he would talk with Karla Faye Tucker before she was executed. He smirked, "what is she going to say, pweeez don't kiw me?" Is that a human being, someone who would mock someone who is going to die within a day? What a mincing little creep he is.

You people are sick and your god is sicker, if he exists. Of course, a real god has mercy and yours is a god of hate and thuggery. I hope you all meet him, because the real god will not forgive you your viciousness and hate.

You people make me sick, and you in particular have a lot to answer for.

Oh, and it's spelled JUDGMENT, except in the term Judgement Day. I thought you might be literate. I was wrong.

Seriously, we have nothing in common anymore. Like a lot of sane ex-Republicans, we are going to take back our party and get rid of you fundamentalist morons. Anyone who believes any book is perfect truth has to be excised from the human race.

Pete

for me--to hear it over and over (we know SH was a brutal dictator).

....It is ignorant to believe that it was OK for Saddam to saw heads off of people while thumbing his nose at United Nations laws saying he had to disarm - and prove it. History shows this is a just war. It is a tragedy that humans must die.

Looks like they were making the "evil shit" at the flea market, or the junk yard! Notice the pipe flanges that connect to nothing. 113. You need to write her back. Saddam sawed off heads? And the chemicals
is another over reaction to a non story. They are not worried about Saddam having used these. They are worried the insurgents might have. Also 1,500 pounds of soap byproduct is not mass quantities. 3rd how does she know the pain of loss of a child in war a person feels is unjust? Cindy feels she lost a child needlessly. She lost a child because of government was not honest with her, her son or the American people.
