Bush Supporters Confront Peace Mom

CRAWFORD, Texas -- Hundreds of people with conflicting opinions about the war in Iraq have descended on a road leading to President George W. Bush's Crawford, Texas, ranch.

What started it all was the public grieving of Cindy Sheehan of Vacaville, Calif., who lost a son fighting in Iraq. She set up a tent near the Bush property last week and who soon begam appearing in news reports nationwide.

Her activity spurred Saturday's counter rallies.

More than 250 people gathered Saturday across the road from the war protesters to voice support for Bush.

Authorities kept the groups separated, but the faceoff snarled traffic as cars lined the shoulders of the narrow winding road.
