"Marine mother Gale Muskiet of Houston estimated that there were 400 in her group that lined up in support of Bush hoping to catch a glimpse of him as he drove on Prairie Chapel Road."

seems the number of anti-Cindy protesters grows in the news. I was shaking my head that 100 increased to 250 with in minutes here on the news. I find it hard to believe too specially when the numbers change by the minute.

Bush Supporters Confront Peace Mom

More than 250 people gathered Saturday across the road from war protesters near President George W. Bush's Texas ranch to voice support for the war.

12. Well, this is a Party that is in charge of the economy
and of counting the war dead. I doubt they can estimate anything without spinning around until they are dizzy and counting the multiple images they see.

19. That's really all you need to know
Look how long it took for people to get there for pro-Cindy protestors. I highly doubt that many people can get there.

4. from the pics
I seriously doubt the numbers and the communist crack at the end of the article..makes you want to pull your hair out.

"Dr. Raoul Deming, a member of FreeRepublic.com, called the pro-peace demonstrators un-American because, he said, the host organizations have ties with communists. "

Why, why, why, why??????????????????????????

27. This is a rinky dink operation. Cool that they hate Bush, but
Those are 22 year old writers writing there. If someone said that to me, I would ask for his proof he is a Dr. and what his doctorate was in, and how he knows they have ties to communist organizations, which ones, and where I can find the proof, otherwise, that statement would be exed out. That's not opinion, that is a statement of fact. And obviously, he has no facts to back up his opinion.

33. I just e-mailed the source of the article in the OP
Since my e-mail, they've added a correction to their report, saying others dispute the "400" figure. I'm tired of this shit, misrepresenting the facts and taking at face value what these right wing fanatics say. I'm e-mailing and writing these news places, today.

6. By the time the MSM gets ahold of it, that number will be in the thousands
This is the break the corporados have been looking for, an opportunity to truly marginalize Cindy and re-popularize the war and the "war president".

Edited to add: just sent an email to the station, asking if they could give some clarification re: the number of people supporting Cindy. We'll see what happens.

Maybe it's genetic. Maybe it's mass psychosis. But these people are unable to tell the truth.

As for that Marine mother - let's see if she feels the same way when her son is returned in a flag-draped box. Still seem like a good idea? Feel any freer or more democratic? Safer?

28. Hey, they changed it!
Here's the part of the article I copied and sent to them, asking them to correct the numbers:

5:35 p.m.

Nathan Diebenow reporting for The Iconoclast:

The pro-Bush counter-protestors left Houston at 5 a.m. and arrived at Crawford around 10 a.m. at Camp Casey. The event was organized by members of FreeRepublic.com.

Marine mother Gale Muskiet of Houston estimated that there were 400 in her group that lined up in support of Bush hoping to catch a glimpse of him as he drove on Prairie Chapel Road. The group left there reportedly after 12:30 p.m. for the parking lot of Pirate Field in Crawford. Many of the members of the group had to walk halfway because of traffic congestion.

At the counter-protest rally four Marine moms spoke in support of President Bush and the war on terrorism saying that the United States must stay the course and that their children chose to join the military of their own free will.

There was a member of the group that dressed up like the Statue of Liberty.

And Now, here's their updated version:

5:35 p.m.

Nathan Diebenow reporting for The Iconoclast:
Several photos of today's event appear at the bottom of this section.

The 400 estimate has, however, been disputed by others present, who say that the number was considerably less than that.

32. good for you
I think its things like this we need to be vigilant about. We should be emailing all the networks until they are sick of hearing us. Call them on their misinformation until they realize we are not taking the lies anymore. We know the truth, we have pictures of the truth so they might as well tell the truth.
