Do You Think the Democrats Are Scared Shitless of Winning???

Just stop and think a moment. Do you believe that the four years of silence or tepid remarks or republican-light reactions we have gotten from our party's polticians are simply because they are spineless whimps or repukes in disguise?? Did it ever occur to you that they are scared shitless of ever re-taking control of Congress and, worse, having Congress AND the presidency all at the same time?? Is it possible they know deep in their gut something we don't want to address??

Do they, perhaps, realize that they can do nothing to stop the direction this country is going in, ie., total rule by the wealthy and corporations?? Do they know that all those "things" we think a Dem majority will help "we the people" with are utterly impossible for them to deliver?? Do they play us with the hint that they "can do something" if elected just like the Limbaugh's and the media whores play the republican faithful in believing they can create a Jesus Holy Land?? Sometimes I wonder if we are all "morons"???

2. I don't think it's a matter of fear

in that way, but I think a lot of them are afraid that they will lose their cushy jobs if they speak up.

Another factor to consider is fear in and of itself. Though it's never been proven, some are often thinking about all the "enemies" that get "accidentally" killed, "apparent suicides" and other life threatening incidents. And of course, since NO ONE is invulnerable to human failings, they could be simply afraid that too much of their personal life would be exploited if they rose their voices too loud.

5. What profile???

I'll go see if I can find the thing and fill in the blanks. Why are you afraid to question our party?? After 60 years and all but the first 18 (I was a kid)being a Democrat, I just cannot believe how we drift along and are getting so far away from things like labor and common people which we used to fight for. Those who do end up being stoned by the party. I'm starting more and more after looking around at what has happen over just 4 short years to believe that there is no way we can reverse the crap that's happening. The repubs are drowning this country in debt so that we can't address social problems, etc. and I think our leaders are beginning to see that there is precious little they can do to stop the bleeding.

What is an ICQ?? I don't have one of the AOL thing a ma jingies and I'm not about to put my name, address, etc. on the web. Anyone who does is nuts. Do you want my SS number and phone number too??? I just find it childish when people can't address an issue but instead try to do the Repuke tactic of "attack the messenger". What does my profile have to do with what I said? 16. NRA- Never Re-elect Anybody

I advanced this starting 4 years ago with VAAI- Vote Against All Incumbents. I am for a clean sweep of Congress. They have failed the country in a terrible way and out of 300 million I am sure we can come up with 535 people that could not be worse if they tried.

The gerrymandering means that over 95% of all members in the House will win re-election. There needs to be a strong prevaling wind against the incumbent where people will bother to challenge the entrenchment that comes with office including money from industry that knows that the incumbent is not going to lose.

I am glad to join you and the others like us that will create a wind against the entrenchment. I wish people had your savvy.

Anthrax, anyone? Wellstone, anyone? When Sen Jeffords switch from rep to independent, and gave the Dems the majority in the Senate, things started turning around. And then 9/11 happened, the anthrax mailings to the Dem leaders happened, Sen Wellstone died? and it was all over but the shouting.

We really are thrashing around, figuring out what to do. This was a problem BEFORE the Bushista's fucked things up beyond repair. This country faced serious challenges in 2000 ... after five years of dumping gas on the flames, those challenges are much more serious. We have a pretty good handle on what NOT to do ... but we desperately need to reformulate progressivism into a concrete and practical plan of action.

It is simply a matter that the vast majority of Democrats have the same corporate masters as the 'Pugs do. Thus, they also continue to vote for and pass legislation that benefits their corporate masters. If we took corporate money out of the equation via publicly funded election campaigns, we will see a return to politicians who represent their real constituents, the American voter. Until that step is taken however, we will continue to suffer under the two party/same corporate master system of government.
