My god ! The most disgusting catalog cover

Just got this plant catalog in the mail today & am COMPLETELY DISGUSTED to see the cover art making light of the horrendous conditions in the "GITMO" prison camp. What's next, a cover showing a humorous take on Auschwitz ?

Checking up on the artist, his website indicates his clients are "a veritable who's who of American corporations", he's currently working on some art for "Focus on the Family" & recommends that you "Develop a strong prayer life". Figures. I think he needs to pray for a conscience or, at least, some good taste.

5. Yep. The spring catalog cover for Plant Delights did it for me.

Right after the election, they came out with a cover making it look like Kerry and Michael Moore were against gardeners. I thought it was so asinine I wrote to them and told them to take me off their mailing list. They sent back a nasty response.

Those people at Plant Delights are jerks. I won't ever buy anything from them ever again.

Several of their pieces are more about politics than about plants. And it's all that culture-war right-winger stuff -- the Clintons, Hippies, Mexicans, the ACLU, Feminists, and all the other favorite flogging horses.

Some of the stuff is funny, but it's not the political stuff. Right wing political comedy tends to be heavy-handed and dead.

But fortunately, that's not my problem.
