"President Bush is in the same situation. In a moment of madness he declared war on terrorism and now he doesn't know how to control it," Gandhi said. "Instead of turning anger into something useful, he declared war on someone he could not see. When he talks, it's probably part of the Christian belief there are good people and there are evil people.

"If we get rid of the evil people then all we'll have is good people. But if the good people act like the evil people to get rid of them - then who is good?" he added. "We are all capable of doing wonderfully good things and terribly bad things. It's what we nurture that makes the difference."

He also was asked what he would say to President Bush if given the opportunity to address him. Gandhi said he would like that opportunity to discuss violence and the role of the United States in the world.

"We haven't become what we are by ourselves," he said. "The only way you can get security is by making friends with your neighbors.

"We can never be secure with weapons of mass destruction, hydrogen bombs, atomic bombs," Gandhi added. "The only way we can be secure is by making the rest of the world secure. That's what I would like to say to him."

I'd much rather be friends with my neighbors than always looking over my shoulder wondering what they're doing.

2. I don't think the BushCo/neoCON regime concerns itself with good/evil.

They set that thinking aside and just pursue power without regard to whether the means or the end is good or evil as long as it benefits themselves and their corporateers. Just MO.

3. It's a nice thought, but I think Gandhi would get more out of talking to

my dog about these issues than to Bush.
