Poll question: Attacking Dem Candidates...
Ok...with the rash of candidates being bashed on DU lately...I thought I would put together this poll...plus I have never done this before so I thought I would try it...

What is your take on the flaming of all candidates...

3. I don't like any of the answers.
But 'don't like the flaming' comes closest -- at least I get to say 'I don't like.' ;-)

4. I don't care
Some of the folks here really give their candidate a poor reference, when you read their words and try to imagine what they would be like in person. I think, in general at least, that most of the country thinks a whole lot different than what you might see posted here. The American electorate is not smart, though, if that's any consolation.

5. flaming is good practice
Think about it - when the primaries are over, all of these flames we will have heard before, from every angle left to right, and we'll have a million links and arguments to defend the Democrat.

Then we'll go to the non partisan board and beat freepers over the head with it. They're sitting around hoping and praying Bush doesn't fuck up anymore than he already has.

Now our CANDIDATES shouldn't be bashing each other by name in public - Lieberman? Dean? Kucinich? Ahem.

6. sorry...maybe next time...
I can come up with some better options...

I just think it's nuts...yesterday(sunday)whenever I signed on to DU there was someone who started a thread that was basically slamming other candidates...I bet the lurking freepers are having a field day with all this infighting...
The big picture here is we...the democrats...need to put the differences aside...get through the primaries...put all of our efforts behind the candidate that makes it to the show...we need to stop BushCo and the rest of the Rethugs who are tearing this country in two...

7. this poll SUCKS !!!
how about a choice for "i support legitimate criticisms of candidates that are based on thoughtful analysis but do not like the empty name-calling bashing threads"

without this option in the poll, the poll is USELESS ...

8. agreed
There is a legitimate and constructive way to express qualms about candidates that would not be characterized as flaming.

As in: Candidate X voted for such and such piece of legislation

As opposed to: All of Candidate X's supporters are republicans!

10. I see that kind of post all the time
and inevitably, the supporters of the candidate concerned label it as "bashing," "flaming" or "disrupting."

9. It's a waste of time!!!
What is your take on the flaming of all candidates...

Focus on the issues. What are Democrats offering the American people? Why are these offerings better than what the other party has to offer? What will happen if the country keeps going in its present direction? What is keeping people (Republicans and Independents) from getting together and changing that direction? Things like that are more productive than nit-picking at individual candidates.

11. Question 1 and 4
Appeal to the same person. Lets stop flaming and get behind the nominee (Clark?)
There is nothing for me to vote on.
Yes I do care so #5 is no good either.
