6. I'm not sure this is appropriate for this post

but I've never felt comfortable with any -ism except humanism.
Once I grew up and began thinking for myself I never even participated in the 'pledge to the flag' at sporting events. For an odd reason that I couldn't explain to myself at the time, it just felt wrong. I wouldn't put my hand over my heart and recite those words. I looked at others who did so as...as...lemings, I guess. I don't mean to offend anyone--this is strictly my opinion only.

My sophomore year of high school the entire school was called down to the auditorium for some event. When everyone rose for the pledge of allegiance I didn't stand up. I couldn't. I knew that 95% of the people reciting those words were only doing it because they were told to. Not because they meant it. I refused to take part in such hypocrisy.

A teacher was walking up and down the center aisle watching the students and when she saw me sitting she told me to get up. I said no and she called over the vice-principal who told me to get up for "his pledge of allegiance". When I said no again my best friend who was standing up next to me looked at me like I was nuts and told me to get up with a kind of look like "dude you're gonna be in trouble". But I just sat there with the three of them staring at me. Finally both teachers turned in the aisle put there hands on there chest and continued on reciting the words.

Absolutely, but I feel the other side is doing it more out of demented psychological reasons than for true conviction or perhaps they are just mentally lazy. Why? because I am conceited enough to think no one in their right mind would support a psychopath except those who are in just for the money, and that in itself is bad enough.

On goals and how they actually behave once in office. Mainly behavior in office, since many goals are lies.

crazies can gravitate to either party, because they dont think logically, or because they dont see reality -- only hallucinationas or delusions.

Most people, in fact, have flaws of some sort or other.

father is a liberal, but the older I get the more I realize what a great and caring man he truly is. I hope to be as good a man as he is one day.
