1. They are in total denial that WE represent the majority,...
,...of American people and that THEY are the hate-mongering radicals. They just don't get it.

4. It is sad
because for the most part the freepers and the fundies are good people who want the same things that we do. FEAR controls their lives. Look at the poor guy in the picture with Cindy. He's scared shitless. Yet he's overwhelmed by the love that Cindy is giving him. I am sure it was a life changing moment for that man. One by one, we can change them one by one.

7. We really do NOT want to live "divided" from our fellow Americans.
Frankly, it angers me to no end that there are those profiteering and acquiring expanded power by intentionally dividing the American people. Such exploitation is sickening beyond belief!!! x(

21. All the polls can tell you that for sure
The republicans haven't won a poll since the Terri Schavio thing. And if you think about it Bush has only been back in office almost six months at the end of August. Talk about his political capital eh?

5. I hope you are right, but I am not so sure.
A coward, or cowards, with a riffle can pretty much screw up anything...if they get desperate enough.

8. So one coward with a rifle makes civil war??
And why do you promote the Radical RW frame that says because a fringe group of Republicon lunatics are pissed off at the world, the nation is divided?

In truth, the American people have so much more in common than not. But the power-hungry Republicons and the greedy corporatists can't win unless they can make us think we're divided. Hence the constant drumbeat of "red and blue" and "division" and "civil war."

20. There are those who seek to intentionally create an illusion,...
,...of division because they benefit (via expanded power and profit) from doing so. The "division" is an intentionally "marketed" illusion,...not reality,...for purposes of exploiting the American people.

Why should any of us allow such exploitation?

25. I think that you are fooling yourself.
I have never believed that this country is whole.

It may never be whole either.

If you really believe that there are no divisions and that A'Murkins are all on the same page (happy and loving) then good luck with that.

30. Is it possible that,....you are allowing an illusion to fool you?
Edited on Sun Aug-14-05 11:56 AM by Just Me
Of course, we have our differences,...that's what makes us an incredibly unique blend. However, the VAST majority of Americans prefer tolerance of different beliefs over violence. I know,...I live here among people who have very different beliefs about God/religion and life and politics. Only a handful of them are so radicalized that they would choose violence over a commitment to peaceful co-existence and they end up in prison.

33. No. I think that I am dead on.
I normally don't allow "illusions" into my life to fool me.

I didn't believe in Prezdent monkey-god's fair and square election in 00.

I didn't believe in the reasons to invade Iraq.

I don't believe in our nation holding together while it is raped an pilliged from the top...while corporations send jobs overseas and reap huge government rewards.

We are in for a world of bad times. I believe they are coming.

I hope that I am wrong, but I believe that I am not.

It's all about nitpicking. Instead of working on things we agree upon they bring up issues such as abortion and gay rights when in reality we all know they don't care about either issues. They never do anything about them so they can keep using these issues for vote's and blame the "liberal activiest" judges. :eyes:

12. You are forgetting one major eliminate in all this
and that is RELIGION. This was not a issue in the Vietnam era. These neocons are harnessing/hijacking religion (culture wars, culture of death, etc) to bring a certain radical element into their fold.

Anyone who knows anything about history, knows that once you starting mixing religion into public policy, i.e, wars, things can get very dangerous, ugly, very soon.

18. Really very telling and I agree
I do think now days they are in the minority. And if there are people out there who are still with them they probably won't be able to give up their jobs of fear of losing them etc. I think this time around things will be very different. No violence or anything like that I hope. But all those pictures are telling. I think the last one is simply amazing.

Why aren't they in Iraq? Flat feet? Inconvenient cysts on their asses? They certainly seem able enough to walk around in the ungodly heat protesting Cindy. Oh, but I'm sure they have very good reasons not to be in Iraq, right?
:sarcasm:
