We Might Not Get Another Chance Folks

Since last Saturday when Cindy planted her heels in and said come out now, I have been consumed with a passion of wanting information about this, almost to the extent of when 9/11 happened. There is a passion that is arising again, finally from a little old woman (middle aged for those that don't like that term)the same age as myself, from a love of her child that hurts to the center core of her being. We don't get many chances in life when you think about it. Since 9/11 there has never been an international cry this loud, heard from every corner of the earth. We don't get this many chances and we let George Bush take charge of the last chance we had at the worlds eyes and ears on us.

Cindy is a light from above, far away from any religion or God, she is pure love and justice. I honestly believe that many people can see her and feel for her, but to be honest, only a mother can truly understand, a person that would give their life for their children, and if anything happened to them it would rip the very core of your soul that would be gone forever. There is no other creature on this planet that can understand that then a mother.

I wept with true sorrow while reading her day 8 summary. She is a remarkable woman of great courage, and she is making history. For those of us who don't truly believe in god, she is truly a gift that we must not fuck up under anyway shape or form. For all of you Jesus believers, she should be looked upon by you as a true savior. For Budhist, she is about true, unconditional love. For Muslims, she wants to stop the pain against your people. She has united this world from love, and there is no greater power then a mother's love of her child. I know, mine are my life, my soul, my joy and my acomplishments. If anyone would harm them, I would die and want to take down whoever did this. She is justified in her anger, beyond any man can truly understand. She is our Martin Luther King, Bobby K, she is a start of a movement. We don't get these chances very often because the world is asleep at the wheel.

The last time that we had the worlds view was the days after 9/11. It was all about love. Cindy touches every women's and mothers heart because it is naturally in us, it's what makes us the caregivers. But now Cindy has touched all people's heart that have the ability to feel, and she has opened their eyes. I believe as a nation we must rally around ourselves, and use this light to bring us to the place we all want to go. The simple ability to live peacefully amongst each other. She is the light, don't let it ever stop burning, because we may not get another chance, they don't come around that often.

a living symbol of a citizen holding the government accountable for its action. Almost like a Joan of Arc, not to sound too sappy but the iconoclastic aspect is there whether people want to face it or not.

...and become the Goddess--for now anyway. At this moment, Cindy Sheehan has become the Great Mother, and even the fundies know instinctively there is no way they can fight that kind of power, because it's the power of life itself.

Recently, somebody on DU compared Cindy Sheehan with Demeter confronting Zeus over the loss her daughter Persephone, and it's a very apt comparison.

being Ole isn't bad. It gives you character. I still get mistaken as being my daughters sister, so nothing old about me, but I gained the title through wisdom and knowledge. I guess I see Ole as something different then you. I don't think I'm going to be living till I'm a 100, I hope not unless this world gets a little better. So middle aged would mean I'm half way there and I think I'm more then half. Didn't mean to offend anyone, it's a positive thing not negative:)

Cindy should take her inspiration from the Jersey Girls and all the other behind the scenes families of 9/11 victims. Keep plugging and chipping away at the facade bit by bit. Yes, the powers that be will try to smear her, and them, but I really believe deep down in the their hearts, the majority of the public knows they are right.

this post. I echo your feelings exactly.
I, as well as so many others, went thru a terrible depression just after Bush's re-selection. I had gotten so caught up in Kerry and campaigning for him and thought that just maybe...just maybe he would be the one to make this all go away. I ignored warnings about electronic voting machines and had faith that so many people were actually coming out in force this time around that even if they were surely stealing votes....they wouldnt be able to steal THAT many?! So I joined with all of you and went to meetings and rallys and pounded the pavement knocking on doors. It was about midnight in Phx Az. at a Dem. gathering with all the Big screen tv's and my son had fallen asleep on my lap as we sat snuggled on the floor. I knew then. We were robbed. God it was so hard to get up the next day. The only thing I could think to do was to raise a flag on my patio hung upside down, and cry.
I think we've all picked ourselves up since then and have gotten back to work taking our country back, but I agree with you. Chances like this do not come often. This is the first time since Nov. that I have had REAL hope. And with this murderous regime in full speed ahead...who's to say we will ever have a real chance again if we don't rise up and take this one?
I'm in, and I'll do whatever it takes.

I think it's a crying shame that so many people are directing traffic to meetwithcindy.org when there is absolutely nothing about Cindy's message there. No link to her blog, no quotes, no link to gold star families... weird.

Question to all progressive Dems:
Everyday another 100,000? people hit meetwithcindy.org ...
what % of Bush believers are turned?
What % of Dems that might come are inspired to come join her?

I don't understand why we don't have someone organizing and utilizing web talent such as exists here at DU. With many people unable to go, we could still contribute via the web, but meetwithcindy, crawfordpeacehouse, etc- none have a forum. She should have a Bush Lied page- the media keeps reporting "Cindy accuses Bush of lying" so why doesn't she have a site that she can point to and say, "look, here are the lies". Web activists like those at DU could be creating those materials.

How about quotes and flyers and t-shirts for those on the road... people shouldn't just buy a shirt when they get to Crawford, they should make one at home then wear it the entire journey- talk it up! and they should have flyers to post on the way!

21. there are a LOT of people that don't know about what is going on

i mention it to every one of my friends, and because they only watch cnn or pathetic local news, they have no idea who cindy sheehan is, what she is doing, how they can help, and so on.

i'm glad to say (and proud, too!) that i am well-informed, because my info comes from du - from people who go there, people who are helping to organize, and truthout. people who depend on msm for their 'news' are in the dark about this.

we need to spread the word even farther. i'm educating everyone, because i think, like you say, it's as powerful as 9/11, and it's a huge expose, which may ultimately change things.
