I've always said that Bush is a fool rather than an idiot. It's the Dan Quayle syndrome writ large. Arrogance and shallowness connected with an overwhelming sense of entitlement to govern -- without the skill to back it up.

I will admit, it looks like brain-rot has set in. Perhaps 10 years ago he believed he had a grip on the issues he faced and now he realizes he hasn't a clue, and neither do the "geniuses" he's surrounded himself with.
