I think I finally figured out how to protest the fundies in my neighborhood. The closest fundie church from me is about a half mile walk from me which is painful, but doable for me .
Its one of those annoying assembly of god churches with the self help slogan bill boards on it. So anyway I was thinking of wearring my support stem cell reasearch and cure parkinson's t shirt on it. I plan on doing this every wed and sunday night before there services. Hell I need to lose weight anyway. So what do you think would this be considered a legimate protest or a waste of my time.

I just wanted to play offense with the fundies and do something instead of complainning about it for a change. Side note I wore my donkey pin to Episcopal mass today to protest justice sunday. No complaints and everyone was pleased that I did it.

and I say, "GO GET EM"!! They need a wake up call. Many of my fellow Christians can be so closed-minded about this issue, I am ashamed. And I apologize for them. Personally, I think embryonic stem cell research is a wonderful idea. We will see it happen more in the future. We just need to take the power back from religious organizations who try to influence politics. Sometimes I wish they would get MS or something so maybe they would understand what it is like for people with debilitating illness. I know that sounds sinful. Actually, that is sinful but I know in my heart God would be pleased if we helped the sick and those in pain. I would donate embryos in a heartbeat if they were needed. I do not believe they are "human beings". They were created in a petrie dish, not placed within a woman for the blessing of a child. Sorry to ramble on so, but I want to reassure you that there are Christians out here who are not against stem cell research. Thanks for listening and may those with blinders on in that church take notice and take action to help others as they see you walk by that church!

6. It may turn out to be very fruitful

You may have the opportunity to talk to church goers and explain why stem cell research is so important. Perhaps you can change their minds by educating them. Are you planning on handing out flyers?

You may consider calling some local groups to join you, either a parkinsons support group or a political group. Also, think about alerting the press.

You don't seem to be looking to have a meaningful dialog. You seem to be angry and are wanting a target for your anger. The AofG church will simply view you as unsaved and will probably pray for your conversion. They may try to witness to you, in which case you and they will be talking past each other. You WILL NOT change any of their minds.

Nor are you likely to gain much sympathy from others. If that particular church is not in some controversy locally, YOU will be viewed as looking for a fight.

There's no way you change their minds, but protesting them isn't a waste of time.
