1. It has to be done
We need our own crowd counters, the MSM will give a real low number, like they did for the inauguration and for the Kerry Rallies in October.

3. The WH will just send out the protest form letter to the media.
To whom it may concern,

Yesterday ____________ was protesting President Bush's ____________
at ___________ Thousands Attended.

Sincerely,

Karl Rove

4. What you need are 10 people, each with one of those mechanical
counters that you click.
Spread your group across the street near the start.
Each person clicks their counter each time a marcher passes between them and their fellow counter to their immediate right.
When everyone has passed by, total up the numbers on the counters, and the group can then join the march.
One person then needs to disseminate the total number to the media, which has been informed beforehand that this information would be forthcoming.

Most important step is to tell the media beforehand what you are doing and the methodology (as described above) you are using.

I doubt there is such a thing as a "professional crowd counter".
