David Crosby and Graham Nash on Hardball last Friday...
....C&L has a clip of nutjob Ted Nugent on the show with Gregory, but nothing with Crosby and Nash. Apparently they were fantastic. Anyone know of a clip out there anywhere?

2. I saw it
It was wonderful. David Gregory was talking about the media coverage of the Iraq war and David Crosby jumped all over him. David C. reminded David G. of all the things the media does NOT tell us, the bodies they don't show us, the injured soldiers we don't see, etc. It was great.

8. David Crosby on Hardball:
CROSBY: I thought that, too. And then I started watching things like the Beastie Boys doing the concerts for Tibet. And this was all young thrasher bands, all young punk bands and stuff, getting out there and sticking up for what they believe in and fighting for a cause. It‘s a tradition that goes back, you know, past the Middle Ages with us. We have always been the troubadours. We‘ve been the town criers. You know, hey, it‘s 11:00 and all‘s well. Hey, it‘s 11:30, we have a chimpanzee in the White House and it‘s not so good.

9. Lol! Yes he did! Here is that part of the transcript!

GREGORY: What about getting about young people. Are young people reacting the same way? Yes, you see the approval ratings. But you don‘t see the kind of resonance, the anti-war resonance. Do you?

CROSBY: I thought that, too. And then I started watching things like the Beastie Boys doing the concerts for Tibet. And this was all young thrasher bands, all young punk bands and stuff, getting out there and sticking up for what they believe in and fighting for a cause. 14. I almost did an "Elvis" on my TV when Gregory asked if the lack of
media images was an issue. I wanted to shoot out the screen and reach through the TV and strangle the little pr-ck, Gregory. What a f--king moran.

DO YOU THINK IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE???? NO, YOU JAG-OFF, THE ADMINISTRATION DENIES ACCESS TO THE IMAGES OF DEAD BODIES FOR PURELY ALTRUISTIC REASONS :sarcasm:

snip:

CROSBY: Show us a TV picture on your network of somebody actually getting killed, an American?

GREGORY: Do you think that‘s a big difference?

CROSBY: I think it‘s a huge difference. It‘s what stopped the Vietnam War. People sat there and they could see Americans being killed and bodies coming home in caskets, which you‘re not allowed to see today. Not at all.

NASH: Even that photograph of, you know, the coffins in the airplane.

CROSBY: They had to have a lawsuit just to show it.

15. I understand why Gregory asked that
and I have no problem with it. This question opened up the dialog for the comments about the caskets, etc. If he hadn't asked it, would Crosby have said what he did about Vietnam?

16. I don't know about that. Did you watch the broadcast?
Or are you reading the transcript. I watched and felt that he was playing dumb/innocent and "acting" surprised. It really pissed me off. So much, that I started yelling at the TV and I don't do that often.

Anyway...........:hi:

17. Yes I did see it
and I understand why you believe what you do. And you may be right. I just got the impression (and from other things Gregory has said in the past) that he was pushing the conversation in the direction he wanted it to go. I took it as a leading question. But then again, I could be wrong.

7. They were great
Sometimes their "We're still activist hippies from the 60's" stuff gets on my nerves.

But on Hardball they were great. They dealt with today, instead of wallowing in nostalgia. That also took the media to task in ways that are seldom heard on the media.

They haven't got Friday's up yet, but here's the Transcript page.
