Bush is missing a golden opportunity here
....think about it...his poll numbers across the board are atrocious, especially on his handling of Iraq. He's got Cindy Sheehan and company parked just down the road, determined to stay there for another two and half weeks. All she wants is to ask him why her son died, what is this "noble cause" he died for? But George just can't bring himself to face her, to hear her out, to simply abide a dissenting voice. He can't offer her compassion, understanding... hell, he just flat out won't lend her an ear, even if he doesn't agree with anything she might have to say. He won't because he can't. Any act which involves Dubya showing himself to be contrite is simply unacceptable. He can't admit any wrongdoing. Ever. This is a man who has been asked what mistakes he thought he made in his first term, and said he couldn't think of any. Of ANY. He and his handlers are soooooo far gone now....sooooooo lost in their own omnipotence....they can't see the forest for the trees. Meet with Cindy, George. Let her criticize you, let her vent, take it like a man. The opinion of a growing majority of the American public is that, well, um...you suck as a president....so, you have nothing to lose by at least listening to a grieving war mom - who's moral authority as such is not to be questioned - even if you still insist afterward that her son did die for a "noble cause". He did not, but by meeting with his mom, you would at the very least be meeting with one voice amongst the 56 million who did not vote for you last November. Then - if you feel you must - you can go back to your donor dinners and your staged rallies.

1. He can't do it. He cannot ever appear to reverse himself. It is not
in his mental and emotional make up.

He missed whatever window of opportunity there was. By letting this drag on he now has lost and will continue to lose. If he gives in now he loses more.

:dilemma:

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. :sarcasm:

4. It was just reported on MSNBC that Cindy has invited Bush to Camp Casey
for a prayer service. I love it!

8. Did you ever see "Little Big Man"?
The character of George Custer could be the prototype for George W. Bush: A man often in error but never in doubt. Reversing a "Custer Decision" was just not done, and even though he suspected that the man he derided as merely a muleskinner might be right, he couldn't bring himself to override a decision he'd made just to save his own life. What would history say about him?

Well, history has rendered its verdict on the Battle of the Greasy Grass, and the name George Armstrong Custer is synonymous with foolhardy leadership. I'm guessing that later on in this century, the name "Bush" will be a byword for stubborn, lazy incompetence.

face up to a lone woman he had no trouble cutting dead once before, when she was on her own.

Now she brought her friends with her, He can see she's not alone; in fact the vast majority of the country is behind her.

Coward Coward Coward!

11. He knows his "God bless America, I'm keeping you safe" won't cut it
with Cindy and the people with her....I'll bet Karl Rove is wracking his brain, trying to come up with another phony phrase or gimmick to pacify them!

12. Worst president in US history?
This is what I have been thinking since he refused to meet with the parents of war dead. Extremely disrespectful and shows he has no compassion for those dying. This will be known as Bush's war no doubt about it.
