Who's Behind Cindy Sheehan?

By Cliff Kincaid | August 15, 2005

The story of Cindy Sheehan is a sad story all the way round. It is sad she lost her son in the Iraq War. It is sad that she is being exploited by far left. It is also sad that she is being exploited by the media and that she seems to enjoy it.

The latest example of this crass exploitation is the August 13 page-one story in the Washington Post about how the anti-war mother has gained "visibility." The Post and other media have given her this "visibility." They are feeding off one another to promote an anti-war agenda.

Sheehan, who once described herself as friendly toward President Bush, now says she wants to personally meet with the President and for him to "tell me that my son died for oil." She wants to say to Bush: "You tell me that my son died to make your friends rich. You tell me my son died to spread the cancer of Pax Americana, imperialism in the Middle East."

....

In her view, therefore, an effort to transform the Middle East by creating a democratic state in Iraq has become "imperialism" and "cancer," and the U.S. is itself close to becoming a fascist state. She may be a "crackpot," as Fred Barnes of Fox News commented, but she is also someone to be pitied because she has clearly been brainwashed.

6. Another one who is of age to fight
and sits on his ass and criticizes a grieving Mother. Unless he has been through war, he needs to shut that hole in his face....

7. Looks like another credible news site....
You can always tell the credible ones that have the words "For Fair, Balance and Accuracy in Reporting". I also like the fact they are selling Zell Miller's book. Another nice guy. I am still looking for the link to Ann Coulter's web site like Drudge has.

8. Typical Bullshit from the Irrational Attack Machine
Using negative terms to suggest mental illness and extreme fringe minority.

I heard the same type of slander last night on Beyond the Beltway. Each member of the panel was asked 'who do you represent'. The CON states, "I represent the Bush Republicans. A rational discussion of the issues." :puke: So, in other words...his words, thoughts, and ideology are completely rational so by extension all dissent is irrational.

9. a) Look at the AIM's own website and look under 'links'...b) Nice, huh?
now look under 'think tanks/etc'... There is nothing 'Fair or Balanced' about AIM: It's Reich-Wing to the core.

11. SHE'S been "brainwashed"?? Me thinks you, Mr. Kincaid, are the
brainwashed one. Would you like some cookies with your kool-aid?

Also, if someone is being "exploited" as you say, and they "enjoy it" ...are they being exploited?

You are a miserable excuse of a human being and an embarrassment to real journalists.

Oh, and folks here at DU, did you read what else he said...

One can assume that these news organizations will neglect the critical matter of how Mrs. Sheehan has become, in effect, a hostage of far-left elements.

She's a HOSTAGE??? Oh, he did qualify it with "in effect". The guy is a dick.
