Are these quotes real?

This email looks like one of those concocted propaganda GOP forwards that circulate endlessly. I have my doubts if the quotes are real, but how do you prove someone didn't say something? I would love to be able to debunk this. Snopes was no help.

Even if all of those people "thought" saddam had WMD and thought force might be necessary, I am quite sure they did not envision force used in the haphazard way it was implemented here.

2. Could be real.

They sound legit to me. But I don't see the significance.

The Sept. 02 quotes from Gore are the only ones that I would really question, but even so, what the heck does Al Gore know? He's a college professor.

4. The reason I was doubtful

is that in doing a search of individual quotes, the only results I found were websites posting this same list.

5. It would help...

If they provided where the quotes were found. Out of thin air, or in a newspaper/TV interview? But some of these quotes I know are legit. I've seen them, especially some of Clinton's.

OTOH...

Many of the Clinton quotes ARE taken out of context. He did say, I think in his February Larry King interview on CNN, that Saddam probably possessed WMDs. HOWEVER, Clinton also said that it was important to do everything possible to have international cooperation before taking action. He emphasized the importance of working with the UN to get Saddam to disarm, if the weapons did indeed exist. Clinton used a LOT of "ifs" in that discussion, and acting was predicated on those "ifs" being true.

And THAT is the primary difference between Clinton and Bush.

6. Sounds like a good reason to force UN inspectors in.

Oh, wait, that's what we did (and by we I mean with bipartisanship in the service of the nation that is, well, not a view shared by a certain other party).
