That fat-ass, all hat no cattle, sunglassed bottle-blonde stooge on Tweety
Maybe it's a good thing that my car broke down outside of Dallas. A good thing, indeed.

So she's been on her knees for three years. She's so fucking stupid that she didn't even know that "insurgents" come from WITHIN the borders. So let's talk about what breeds insurgents.

Contrast Hardball to the special that's been airing on CNN today. You want to see why there are insurgents in Iraq? Watch CNN. Just ask the shepherd who was almost shot because he was standing near where a suspected IED had been reported. Ask the grandmother who was frisked in her own living room because she might be hiding explosive devices. Ask the mother who had her kitchen overturned during a search for explosives.

How long will there be violent strife in Iraq? Ask the children who have seen their elders mistreated.

4. Don't beat
yourself up so bad about it dear. I've been gone for a day or two (needed a break after those all-nighters we pulled last week) and just perused your posts. You obviously weren't supposed to make it; ususally that ends up for the best. We are all glad you tried; and very glad you and yours are ok!!!

7. I've tried to look at it that way.
Even though it was a bad experience, it could have been much worse. Everyone in this town has been so helpful and nice. I don't think that people in Mississippi are as cordial as people in North Texas. :D

Nice catch for a conservative guy with a fleet of heavy equipment that needs fixing.

I'd pay her NOT to strip.

3. She really did sound ill-informed.
Tough lady. She definitely does not have the charisma Cindy has. Neither one of them (the blond, all hat no cattle lady and the Iraqi) seemed to have a clue as to what they were talking about. Is that the best they can muster to counter the calm, straight talking, soft-spoken, sincerity of Cindy. If so, they've lost by a wide, wide margin!

10. That's the same thing I thought.
Cindy is smart, but soft-spoken. She has fortitude, but she's not rude.

She is the best possible representative any anti-war group could have.

As for the other side, if that's the best they can do....hahahahaha! "Bring it on."

14. Hi, sparosnare...
I don't think I'll have the money to get back to Crawford. Car repairs (or the down payment on a new car) are going to wipe out all my savings. :-(

It was bound to happen sooner or later. My car was just 10 miles short of 150,000 miles on it. It was time for a new one soon anyway.

I wish I could have met you. Beside shaking Cindy's hand, I (and MMjr) were SO looking forward to meeting DUers. I told him that he was tent leader, and he even brought some CDs to play inside the canopy. He was really psyched about it.

You guys keep up the good fight in Crawford. I'm with you all in spirit.

17. See the thread in GD entitled "Cindy on MSNBC"
It gives a pretty good description of the whole segment of the show.

She was a mother who's son had served and come home from Iraq. No, her son didn't die. Yes, she was abrasive and stupid. And she did nothing but reveal her ignorance throughout the whole interview.

Welcome to DU, ken :toast:

11. Those counter-protesters
and Larry the gun toting loser are doing wonders for Cindy. They all sounded so ignorant that KKKarl Rove was probably ready to have a stroke. They only need these stupid people to vote for them and then shut up. The last thing they want is for them to start getting interviewed on MSM!!!!! I think Chris should have pointed out the fact that this woman's son did not come home in a BODY BAG. She can not relate totally to Cindy. She still gets to hug her son every day. B*itch.

I hadn't even planned to watch him - just hadn't changed the channel. Then I looked up and there stood Cindy. I was afraid that he would disrespect her by interrupting and yelling but he didn't. I think she did a wonderful job of getting her message of "Bush lied" out there.

Those on the Right did not leave a good impression at all.

16. Chris Matthews
Eew, eew, the blonde in the cowboy hat isn't tough ... her son is alive ... she's just rough. I wondered if she's the "husband" of the Iraqi female married to an American and living in our country ... denigrating a dignified American mother who lost her eldest son in a war comprised of lies. Perhaps the Iraqi woman should be in Iraq defending Iraq.

23. I got the feeling that the Iraqi woman was a plant.
Rove probably called a wealthy Bush benefactor with an Iraqi wife and had her flown in.

Funny thing is, ask the all hat no cattle woman how she feels about Iraqis any other day. I know people like that woman. Any other day, she wouldn't have given the Iraqi woman the time of day.

she had the "I'm gonna kick some peace protester ass with this interview" face on. Boy was she reduced to rubble by the end of the interview.

Sadly, she probably didn't even realize how stupid she was made to appear.

19. I just watched Anderson Cooper's interview of Cindy.
She was polite and matter of fact and put him in his place. Then he had some pro-blivet mom all rah, rah. He had the nerve to say that CNN likes to be fair and present both sides. Yeah, sure, right! :argh:

They do that only when the weed is in a bad light and they want to defend him.

So glad things have settled down for you Maddy! :hi:

The kid MMjr's playing with is so funny. They are having a blast.

You are right. They only give two sides when the left has a political advantage and Bush needs to be defended. Otherwise, it's all right, all the time.

Oh, and on edit:    to you for all you've done. THANK YOU for everything!

24. Ask the children who have seen their elders mistreated.
And ask the elders who have seen their children killed by the occupiers.

"The Americans came back with an officer two days later," Selim al-Sammerai continues. "They offered us compensation. I refused. I lost my son, I told the officer. 'I don't want the money - I don't think the money will bring back my son.' That's what I told the American." There is a long silence in the room. But Selim, who is still crying, insists on speaking again.

"I told the American officer: 'You have killed the innocent and such things will lead the people to destroy you and the people will make a revolution against you. You said you had come to liberate us from the previous regime. But you are destroying our walls and doors.'"

I suddenly realise that Selim al-Sammerai has straightened up on his seat and his voice is rising in strength. "Do you know what the American said to me? He said, 'This is fate.' I looked at him and I said, 'I am very faithful in the fate of God - but not in the fate of which you speak.'"

Then one of Yassin's brothers says that he took a photograph of the dead boy as he lay on the ground, a picture taken on his mobile phone, and he printed a picture of it and when the Americans returned on the second day they asked to see it. "They asked me why I had taken the picture and I said it was so people here could see what the Americans had done to my brother. They asked if they could borrow it and bring it back. I gave it to them but they didn't bring it back. But I still kept the image on my mobile and I was able to print another." And suddenly it is in my hands, an obscene and terrible snapshot of Yassin's head crushed flat as if an elephant had stood upon it, blood pouring from what had been the back of his brains. "So now, you see," the brother explains, "the people can still see what the Americans have done."
