But this ties in to Bush lying about getting us into Iraq. it will be repeated over and over again. Not only did Bush lie to get us into a war but he also put our national security at risk by outing a CIA operative that was responsible in monitoring the movement of nuclear materials.

By the VERY FACT that this story broke in July and the WH did NOTHING to get to the bottom of it they have provided prima facie evidence not ONLY of their involvement but have also CLEARLY indicated that the Justice Department CANNOT be trusted to investigate this...otherwise...they already would have.

7. They are scared s**tless! because this reminds them of Hutton Inquiry....

and they know what that has done to Blair's government with all the resignations and revelations about how Britain got into this war. The two situations are so similar.....the only thing worse would be if Plame had ended up like
David Kelly and I'm sure Wilson was worried about that.

Instead she and her network were compromised.....but the result is very much the same...and the circumstances too with a press leak an "outing" and the terrible consequences.

I only saw one reporter in an obscure newspaper make the connection......so there must be a big "sssshhh" factor that no one wants to let the American readers who aren't aware of what's been going on in Blairs government know how much has been revealed.

I think it has legs.....but only if it keeps getting help from the press....and the Dems.....so far so good from what I saw today. This story leads back to the fault intelligence......and how we got into Iraq. There's no way that's going to rest as long as our soldiers are still dying and the place is a bottomless money pit.

6. It's at times like this that I am pleased

that we have so many Democrats running for president. If we had only one viable candidate, the media would smear that candidate and the focus would be on the candidate's foibles rather than Bush's scandal.

Please don't forget that Bush is the enemy, not our own Democratic candidates.

this is exactly the point ... whether we win or lose on the wilson issue, bush has nowhere left to hide ... and with his war shields tattered with failed credibility, his crimes will be there for all to see ...

we've come a long way, baby ... think back to those dark days around the time of the patriot act and the iraq war resolution ...

many of our finest DU'ers argued back then that it would be political suicide to "stand up to bush" ... those who wanted the democratic party to act like an "opposition party" were called politically naive ... we were called extremists whose criticisms of bush would do nothing but drive away the centrists ...

we had discussion after discussion about the political viability of confronting bush ...

well, not any more ... i wouldn't be quite so quick to dismiss the wilson stuff as just one of a "thousand cuts" ... it only takes one teensy weensy little hole to burst a balloon ... and the wilson disclosures look more like a deep gash than a little hole ...

it's open season now ... bush can no longer hide behind 9/11 ... he can no longer say we must confront saddam with one american voice ... his policies, all his policies, are in tatters ... and he may have broken a teensy weensy law or two along the way ...

Having a "team" of democratic presidential hopefuls, means they get to take turns bashing Bush!! Awesome. Each one can fill in what the other one missed.

I'm looking at this from the WH's point of view: they're in trouble. They know they can't get out of this one. "Two people" is reverberating all across the US. It's like a detective mystery: who are the culprits? Everybody's wants to get in on the action, trying to figure it out, taking bets. The way I see it is, they have 2 choices: drag out the one(s) who did it, whether it was Rove, or Cheney or Conda-liar or Hadley. They've got to make the sacrifice because the press won't let it go.

OR, they can pick a fall-guy, someone who will fall on his sword. However, it would have to be a pretty high-ranking person since Ambassdor Wilson said it. So they've got to sacrifice someone.

Who will it be? My take is, being the pit vipers they are, they will pick the weakest link.

But we all know that the * Admin will practice character assassination on the Dem nominee in 2004. They will try to make our candidate look dangerous or unstable or weak. Instilling fear in the populace is the * strategy. So far, it's been bought hook, line, and sinker. Why will it be different in 2004? It's not like they'll tell the truth.
