Reality Hits Camp Casey

The last 10 minutes have been very difficult here. I am at the Peace House editing video. First came a phone call that someone drove their vehicle over the Arlington West Crosses at the camp. I will head out to the camp now to get more details.

Within minutes one of the volunteers logged on to a website and learned that her friend was killed in Iraq. She burst into tears, Cindy was sitting across the room and immediately moved over to comfort her. What a reality check.

The media uses artists to illustrate what happens in court if cameras are not allowed.

There was a good small blog that had a non-exploitative watercolor painting of an Iraqi woman in great distress surrounded by soldiers to illustrate the rape of women in Abu Ghraib and the title of the article was DO I HAVE TO PAINT YOU A PICTURE.

I don't know if the blogger painted it himself, someone mentioned on the thread talking about Bushco and DoD defiance of the court order to release the 4 videos and 157 photos of Abu Ghraib on June 26 then because "of the 4th of July holiday" Bushco was granted until July 23, 2005 to release the photographic evidence of war crimes.

On July 23 the Bushco lawyers argued that they didn't have to release them because they might cause riots - whether in Iraq, the other Arab countries or America when they see what their tax dollars and support of the Iraqi war and occupation are buying.

On this thread someone said that a previous thread had linked to a site where some of the atrocities shown in the photographs and videos at Abu Ghraib were painted by and artist and the person asked if the artist had seen it, why can't the American people.

The MSM is not going to use any of its' own artists for the desecration of the crosses with the names of the soldiers killed by bush's lies and in bush's war, so any DUers with artistic skill and imagination could do a painting and we could all sent copies either in an email or print out for snail mail letters and send to the top MSM newspapers and TV stations.
