Sheehan's husband seeks divorce (the scumbag!)

Sheehan's Husband Seeks Divorce

Bush roadside protester named in California petition filed Friday

AUGUST 15--The next well-wisher approaching Cindy Sheehan at her tent encampment outside President George W. Bush's Texas vacation home may actually be a process server. That's because the California woman's husband--in a curious bit of timing--filed for divorce Friday afternoon (below you'll find a copy of Patrick Sheehan's complaint, lodged August 12 in Solano County District Court). With Sheehan, 48, entering a second week outside Bush's Crawford retreat, her husband's divorce petition cites "irreconcilable differences" for the demise of the couple's 28-year marriage (the Sheehans, the document states, have been separated since June 1).

Along with a Vacaville home, Patrick Sheehan listed other "community assets" as "any and all benefits payable as a result of son's death," including a Prudential insurance policy and "benefits from the U.S. Government." From her roadside outpost, Sheehan, whose 24-year-old son Casey, an Army Specialist, was killed last year in Iraq, has become the face of the U.S. antiwar movement, telling reporters that she will not budge until Bush meets with her and explains "why our sons are dead."

9. It's totally irrelevant
This came up yesterday, in a discussion that rambled all over, and eventually got "locked". The BEST favor we can give to the Cindy-bashers is give them grist for their mill.

Divorce in this country, at that age, and with no dependent children is all too common ... even MORE so in the Reptilican states. Just let it lie, and let it be the Freepers who try to besmirch a Gold Star Mother. LET THEM TRY IT!!

10. Unfortunately, this will be a great fodder for the freepers
An unstable woman, came to Crawford to escape her miserable marriage, is full of sorrow, does not know what she is doing... blah blah blah

And we - and her - better be ready for this new smear campaign. This is the stuff that they really excel. I can see Rove rubbing his hands with sheer delight.. now we are getting somewhere. And the gang in Faux saying Amen.

13. I can well imagine the Rove Machine in action.
We saw it wirh McCain, Cleland, and Kerry. But if we behave like an overturned ant-hill, we'll just be giving them grist for their mills. Let it be the Freepers who cast the first stone. It might have been decisive a week or so ago, but the Cindy movement has now become far too powerful for that. Casting mud will be easily perceived for what it really is ... the desperate moves of COWARDS. stand firm, and united.

the RWingers are pointing to this like it somehow justifies their slime campaign. To me, it's just another casualty of the war... this won't be the first family broken up over the stress caused by the war or the last. Celebrating the Sheehan's divorce - that's some nice family values, hypocrites.

18. Marriages often fail after the death of a child.
We don't know, let's cut the poor man some slack. Rush to judge is what we critisize the other side for,no?

15. The death of a child often drives a wedge between
the parents. Many divorces occur as a result of a son's or daughter's death.

17. Dupe. And
I don't think this is anything we need to be discussing. People grieve in their own ways. People have marriages in their own ways, and those marriages dissolve in their own ways.

Paying heed to what Cindy Sheehan herself has said: Leave her family out of this.

19. Congratulations
We don't really know the situation at home but it's possible congratulations to Cindy are in order. During the Suffragette movement many men left their wives and the converse was equally true, they had a bigger calling. Looks like Cindy does too. I would send him back to that family of his, the ones who are soooooo upset because Cindy doesn't support our President. Nope, Congratulations Cindy, you will be happier and stronger.

23. Their marriage is another victim
Bush's lies that got their son killed in Iraq. Btw, what do you think caused Neil Bush to cheat on his wife, to kick her and his children out of their home, and to engage in sex with underage girls in SE Asia? Bush family values, I guess ~

22. As I said on another post..this PROVES the spontaneity of Cindy's
trip to Crawford. I am sure her divorce has been with the lawyers for months. Since the Sheehans are not rich folk, they cannot delay the proceedings, it just got filed at an inopportune time. To me this is further PROOF Cindy did not plan her campaign at Crawford, but decided to go because of her grief and anger!
