Hey yall Im back, My son posted for me earlier(Crosses)
Edited on Mon Aug-15-05 11:52 PM by TexasLady
Im waiting on my H to upload my pics. It was pitch dark, so the chances of them turning out are slim But will post on this thread.

There were about twenty folks at the camp, and two folks on watch. All of a sudden, as we were singing cadence songs, the guy on watch said "Get the cameras down here!" Local news camera was there setting up with their remote stuff...It happened SO fast!

As I got there, where the two roads meet, most were mowed down alreaedy. I could see the truck way in the distance, and I could hear the awful clunking sound that the PIPE and CHAIN made. The guy on watch said he could see that dragging behind the truck. This was deliberate@!

He stopped at the end of the crosses, then left in a hurry. It was weird because he wasnt going that fast as he mowed them down, but methodically driving to get as many rows as he could.

Will post those pics, tho not promising if they are any good. I didnt get the guy, even tho he was slow, we were all slower on foot.

Edited on Tue Aug-16-05 12:00 AM by Hekate
But you know he probably did us a favor in spite of himself. How many people in this nation are going to look on rows of crushed crosses think that was the right thing to do?

The crosses will be planted again tomorrow and Arlington West will be rededicated to the memory of the fallen, I know. New names will be added. The work of peace will go on.

Will Bush will continue to hide beneath his bed? Chances are pretty good that he'll talk to the media or send out a press release about how no one should desecrate religious symbols -- then he'll go back under his bed. I think he's too angry at Cindy for disrupting his vacation to be able to face her and come out looking like anything other than the (expletive deleted) that he is.

Once again, thank God our friends were not physically hurt.

66. In honor of Jason C. Ford RIP
One of the crosses
http://www.militarycity.com/valor/257075.html

Army Spc. Jason C. Ford

21, of Bowie, Md.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 18th Infantry Regiment, based in Schweinfurt, Germany; killed March 13 when his patrol hit an improvised explosive device in Tikrit, Iraq.

When Spc. Jason C. Ford’s unit arrived in Tikrit, Iraq, to take over security duties, the soldier was uneasy. When he called his father and stepmother, he told them of hearing gunfire during his first patrol in Tikrit, the site of frequent attacks on U.S. soldiers.

“I could hear the anxiety. It was almost like he was saying to himself, ‘This is the real thing,’” said his father, Joseph Ford. Days later, on March 13, the 21-year-old soldier from Bowie, Md., was killed when a roadside bomb exploded next to his Humvee while he was on just his second patrol in Tikrit.

People gravitated to the soldier because of his happy demeanor, his stepmother said. “He was just sweet, a good child,” Irene Ford said. “There was nobody who didn’t like him.”

Joseph Ford said the Army gave his son structure and some “growing up.” The Vietnam veteran said he tried to reassure his son that his training would get him through his tour in Iraq.

His was the only name that I could make out on the mowed down crosses. What a beautiful young man. My son is a couple of years older than Spc. Ford, and I've had to talk my son out of enlisting. I cannot foresee a future where it it will once again be honorable to serve. Sorry for rambling, I really just wanted to comment on Spc. Ford. My heart goes out to all who love him.

Once again, I am moved to tears- this time, in sadness and disgust of the cruelty of humans. I hope they interview the asshole who did this on national television so he can explain how it is that someone can be so un-patriotic and unfeeling that they would do such a horrible thing.
We should send these out to our local newspapers tonight with a story about this. It's a big deal- and needs attention. I want everyone to know who this guy is and the type of people he represents. (This means you too Freepers!)

Next he'll tour the country and desecrate the actual graves.

Looking at the pictures gives me a real sick feeling. I just can't imagine how someone could do something like that. And like Spazito said, the crosses laying on the ground represent the bodies of the soldiers. Both were mowed down by the actions of assholes that obviously hate the troops. Makes me wonder if Dubya was the driver.

Thanks for posting the pictures. (Great job with the pics BTW. They turned out really nice.) As hard as they are to look at, they needed to get out there. Hopefully the media won't ignore this like they do everything else.

Premeditated desecration.

137. I think we will win
It's hard for the other team to stay motivated when they do not see any benefit over the long haul. Sure, they got a three hundred dollar "tax cut" that was skimmed off their next year's taxes a few years back, but that bit of cash has already been dumped into the tanks of their SUVs. The rank and file GOP, who are in it for purely ideological purposes or reasons of greed, are not getting their piggy little snouts up to the trough. They aren't really BENEFITTING.

How long can they continue to say things like "He's a straight shooter" when he is shooting them in the head? Time for them to start asking that Reaganesque question: Are you better off than you were four years ago? I don't know a soul who can answer that question in the affirmative....

87. I'm glad God protected you from this evil person. The photos are both
powerful and spooky. If the MSM will not print the story with these excellent and dramatic photos that speak more than a thousand words, we should mount a campaign.

I'm going to AfterDowning Street media page and start emailing.

And will send Cindy another letter with a message for the brave Texas Lady.

92. I just emailed KXXV / News Channel 25, ABC affiliate to
broadcast the stories of the desecrated crosses as soon as possible.

http://www.kxxv.com/main.cfm?ID=13 email page

I just read the terrible story on Democratic Underground about the desecration of the crosses with the names of the nearly 2,000
soldiers who have died in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Please broadcast the story as soon as possible. I understand that KXXV ABC affiliate was there just after it happened.

The juxtiposition of Cindy respectfully putting up the crosses to honor the soldiers who have died in this needless war and occupation in the heat with the photos in the dark of the desecrated crosses by a man in a pickup truck with chain and pipe attached to make sure he
desecrated as many crosses as he could deserves to be known by the American people who have witnessed Resident Bush snub the mother of one of the soldiers who died in the war he started using a pack of well-rehersed lies.

Then threatening to have the mother of a fallen soldier arrested, refusing to let this mother of a slain soldier walk on a highway paid for with taxpayer money and which was walked on at the same time by the sherrifs and the media while the Gold Star Families of the
soldiers who have died had to walk in a ditch with fire ants and the other harrassment that Cindy and the other families have been put
through by the Bush Regime needs to be told to the American people by the media which has a responsibility to broadcast the truth.

Thank you.
~~~~~~~~~
A very good article dated 8/12 on Cindy and the media interest -
http://www.kxxv.com/main.cfm?ID=1&NewsID=2136&Type=Full
but at the end of article:
"One reporter, Shingo Egi, is from a Japanese newspaper. He says readers have become more interested in the anti-war movements since more Japanese troops started dying in Iraq.
"The national and international media members are staying in Central Texas while Sheehan continues her protest, so they try to talk to a lot of the Crawford residents.
"The residents of Crawford are trying to do their best to avoid the protestors, or rabble-rousers, as they called them.
"The media isn't expected to leave Crawford until Sheehan does, but she says she won't leave until President Bush does, and he's scheduled to stay at his ranch until the end of the month."
~~~~~~~~~~

please keep writing Cindy as often as you can and flood that Crawford Post Office so the world and Crawford will know how much support that Cindy and the Gold Star Families for Peace and the soldiers have from the "liberals".

Will we hear the outcries from the MAJOR NETWORK TV NEWS?

BTW, the AP has a blurb about what happened in an article about Cindy's marital problems.

---------------------

Late Monday, a pickup truck tore through rows of white crosses that stretched about two-tenths of a mile along the side of the road at the Crawford camp. The crosses bore the names of fallen U.S. soldiers. No one was hurt.

96. Sent a letter to News Day, Thanks for the link
http://www.newsday.com/about/ny-aboutus-quickinfo,0,520...

Your article ignoring the DESECRATION OF THE CROSSES~~~a Memorial to the soldiers who died, most of them in agony by fire was disgusting.

We don't need to know about Cindy's marital problems and that should have gotten a bare mention. The big story is and should have been in your article the constant harassment of Cindy and the other Gold Star Families who have lost loved ones in the war the media helped to promote using the Bush Regime pack of lies as proved beyond a shadow of a doubt in the Downing Street Memos.

The DSM are available in their entirety on AfterDowningStreet.com who is doing the job any self-respecting news media should be doing.
You are too used to reporting entertainment and gossip instead of news.You need to write a serious article worthy of your calling as journalists about the massive support for Cindy Sheehan and the Gold Star Families for Peace.

Every large and small blog or message board site has had multiple articles about Cindy for the past week and a half and even the news media from other countries are doing better than the US press who has blood on its hands for supporting the war and ignoring the innumerable real scandals of the Bush Regime that affect all Americans - questions about 911 and the selling of the steel so that engineering tests could not be made - the illegal destruction of the biggest crime scene in American history, the election fraud in 2000 and 2004, Gannongate, the payment using tax dollars of over 2 million dollars for articles favorable to the Bushco lies, the assassination of journalists including Juliana Segrena and direct targeting of the New Zealand photo journalist, the report by the International Journalist Association recently accusing the bush regime of the murder of at least 17 journalists trying to report on the
truth of the mass murder including children in Iraq, the genocide going on, esp. at Fallujah in the destruction of the entire city and the refusal to let the International Red Cross or Red Crescent in to help wounded civilians, the torture photos that DoD was ordered to
release on June 26, 2005 including the torture, rape and murder of children as young as 7 years old, the 100 children held at Abu Ghraib some as young as 10 years old, the unknown number of children being held at Gitmo, the torture at Gitmo, the 4 US medical personnel at Gitmo who have died under suspicious circumstances, the censoring of Sibel Edmonds' testimony of the 911 Commission headed by long time bush financial supporter Chairman Kean, the murder of Whistleblowers like Ray Lemme and on and on.

People are sick of Hollywood-type gossip and want to know the truth. Journalists were tried at Nuremberg for aiding and abetting the
genocidal murders and torture of the Nazis.

Shame on you.

Sincerely,

XXXX

Why can't they just condemn this cowardly act? The person who did this is slime and they should just admit it.

68. True Colors...
People's true colors always come out one way or another.

You see, you must realize that these neocons and their sympathizers are FASCISTS.

FASCISM is the word.

FASCISM has always been an undercurrent of American politics and social life, but now it's wide-open.

Make your mouth say the word:

FASCISM.

FASCISM.

No, it's not just some "right-wingers", it's not just some "neocons"...it's FASCISM in our land, in OUR White House, in OUR GOVERNMENT.

Call it what it IS: F A S C I S M

Call them what they ARE: F A S C I S T S

Get it? Good. Now maybe we can deal with the problem.

83. Camp Casey to have use of full acre closer to Bush ranch
At least there is some good news too...from Cindy's blog

"We still have so many great things happening at Camp Casey. In spite of all the smears and lies, people are still coming.

The most amazing thing today was learning that Camp Caseys are opening and spreading all over the country. They have been set up in Boston, Portland, Seattle, and elsewhere. If you can't make it to Camp Casey, set up your own version. Camp Caseys are amazing places full of love and hope. I am so gratified that the movement is spreading.

There is a meeting tomorrow at the County Commissioner's meeting to vote on closing Prairie Chapel Road and then evicting us. We were all worried about that and planning on being arrested when we got the best news yet. The property owner who owns property near Bush's ranch and right across the street from Bush's church will let us move Camp Casey there!! He has property on both sides of the road...a full acre for us to camp! We are so excited!!! We can fit more people and we will be closer to the ranch. Miracles, miracles.

Mike Rogers from Tokyo showed up today and a dear woman from Australia who was a human shield in Iraq and knows that the Iraqi people are not jumping for joy that the policies of Bush destroyed their country.

This is an extremely short post today...I am exhausted."

Same as when they smuggle the dead heroes coffins back from Iraq and Afghanistan, in the dark! Things like pole cats, cat burglars, worms and weasels do their work at night. I just saw on TV that they caught the coward that did this cruel dirty deed, but they haven't given his name yet. They should let the ladies who's children were represented by those sad little crosses, in that sad sorry place, stone the idiot to death, since they're so keen on doing what the Bible would have them do in that county! The worm is probably a local Southern Baptist minister filled with the "Holy" spirit!

If the air smelled like BO after the truck went by, it was no doubt a Freeptile driving the truck!

The sight of the crosses mowed down is heartbreaking, but the act of doing it is so obscene it might serve to bring more attention to the cause. Thankfully, no one was injured. It would be nice if they found the person in the truck, but judging from how they treat shotgun-toting dove hunters, it's doubtful. Let's hope this photo makes the front pages of many, many papers.

Late Monday, a pickup truck tore through rows of white crosses that stretched about two-tenths of a mile along the side of the road at the Crawford camp. The crosses bore the names of fallen U.S. soldiers. No one was hurt.

it can be used to show what the other side is all about. What kind of people mow down the crosses representing the graves of the fallen? Certainly not a patriot in this country. Also there is a little matter of desecration of the flag and since they framed that as an issue, we should make it one.

It sums up the right's attitudes towards our troops. If we speak of our troops as more than cannon fodder, the GOP and its allies become uneasy and will do anything to quash the dialogue.

This is an example of your typical TV Recliner War Monger who for whatever reason doesn't qualify to go to Iraq and probably never served in the military but yet is pro military and has no respect at all for those who have gone and died for their country.

Their actions speak for themselves, typical of the Presidents statement about going on with his life.

Those who have made the sacrifice only wish it was in a recliner watching it on Fox News. Who will support the President regardless and Damn the dead.

174. Maybe paranoia is getting to me.
Given the proximity of Camp Casey to Der Bushbunker, I find it hard to believe that the Secret Service isn't watching everything that goes on there. So it’s hard for me not to at least speculate that the SS knew that the pickup was coming, and that they allowed it to do so even though they could see that the driver had some malicious intent (otherwise, why the dragging chains?).

Likewise, the guy who shot towards Camp Casey because he was “practicing for dove hunting season.” I don't see that he'd be permitted to shot in the direction of the Beloved Leader.

Or am I seeing things that aren’t there?
