Laugh it up Freepers
Go on, have yourselves a good laugh. Mock the desecration of the memorial with all your slimy black hearts. All you're doing is showing what sick, disgusting people you are.

This memorial was non-partisan. There was no agenda behind this other than to honor each and every soldier killed in action. This transcends politics. Cindy Sheehan herself embraced and wept with a Bush supporter at Crawford whose son was killed in action, after showing him the cross with his son's name on it. And you mock this. You think it's a big joke, are even proud of it. Just because the people who set it up didn't vote the same way you did. You call that patriotic? You call that supporting the troops?

How dare you. How fucking dare you. You fucking pigs. You cowards. You can't even back up your on bloodlust by enlisting, but you think you have the right to laugh at the desecration of a memorial to the troops you so loudly claim to support. How dare you.

So go on, laugh it up. Enjoy the pain and suffering of these families. Just be your depraved, soulless selves for all the world to see, you sick motherfuckers.

15. It just shows they are falling apart when they speak the truth.
They have decided that we will just out their lies anyway, so they are speaking the truth... and their truth speaking will spread like leprosy among them - because they all are parrots on the talking points - until they realize what they have done and then it is too late...

7. This is going to backfire on them
We need to stay calm, but firm that they DO NOT SUPPORT THE TROOPS OR THE FAMILIES and let the world see how heartless and cruel these people really are. The media is there - take every opportunity to point out what hypocrites and hateful bastards these Bush supporters really are. I'm in shock and can't believe how low they continue to sink. We must have these people scared shitless.

10. The freeper posts supporting this lunacy are clearly from the
shallow end of the gene pool. I've got to believe that some with any ability to reason are going to want to distance themselves from this. While it is going to motivate stronger support for Cindy Sheehan's cause, it could lead to a rift among her detractors or at least a distaste for this brainless kind of expression.

...everyone down South are nothing but backward hicks who want to kill brown people, burn gays at the stake and firebomb churches. All of us...down to the last person. In fact, we get together and plan these excursions well in advance. We're all guilty of it, and all my fellow DUer's here who are from the South are clearly lying when they tell you they don't do these things...as the High Potentate, I have a list and I make sure to check off their attendance to our secret Southern Hypocrite meetings each month at the Waffle House...we like it scattered, covered, diced and chunked, thanks.

35. Well I am FROM the south
(Oklahoma) and I went to school with rednecks. My mom and other Indians were terrorized by the KKK back in the day. I've lost relatives to them. I had an uncle, a decorated war veteran, whose throat was slit and he was left to die on a country road. I had a cousin who was gang raped and left in an alley to die, which she did. When I was in grade school they started bussing in OKC. It was called the "Finger Plan" and we got a lot of phone calls warning us not to go to school if we knew what was good for us. Yes, I know what type of people live in the south.

I also know there are a lot of kind and caring people from the south. I have family in the south (Texas, Mississippi, Florida and Oklahoma), so get off your high horse I couldn't possibly describe every single person who lives in the south with one sentence/post. If you haven't been exposed to these people, you have no idea what you're are talking about.

I"m in the wrong for saying a blanket negatvie stereotype of southerners is unfair. You state as much by saying people from the south are both "redneck"-y but also kind and caring. Which is basically agreeing with me.

then you tell me to get off my high horse?

er....whatever, dude.

Grew up in Chattanooga, lives out in rural Loudon county, has a wife with a Georgia accept as broad as my waist. And they're a pair of the kindest, most compassionate people you could ever met. Intelligent, well-informed and lifelong Democrats to boot.

I like to refer to Klondike as a *REAL* "Southern Gentleman." He walks the walk. And he has hardly the only one. Southern politics may be horribly corrupt in places, and there's always a generous supply of ignorant hick rednecks, but that's hardly the whole story of the South!

Because if there wasn't a special place in Hell for Freepers, then life would simply be too unjust to be worth it anymore.

I take comfort in the fact that -- even if they don't see justice in this world -- they'll see it in the next.

The Son of God once said: blessed are the peaceakers. The part he left out was "you fucking illiterate jackasses, can't you even read a few fucking chapters without fucking the whole thing up?"

these bible beaters get to Chapter 19 of Genesis and the story of Lot and his daughters. It hits too close to home and don't make it to the New Testament. Also, they get to this point and then remember its time to go buy their sister a six pack and act out their favorite Bible storY.

20. And posts like YOURS are why I'm a Presbyterian & ashamed of being Texan
What my family refers to as the "Babti-domes" seem to inspire only intolerance, and no one dares ask a simpe question. In my experience, many (most) churches rely upon the laziness of members, requiring others to think for them and often requiring a scapegoat.

Texas is a fantastic state, with a noble and rich tradition, and kind, generous, and loving people. It's been a few years since I left there, and I miss the culture desparately, but it's stories like the OP's that make me ashamed. Shame is one of the emotions that most Texans, in my experience, are completely unfamiar with.

Presbyterians USA are at least anti-war, anti-death penalty, pro-choice and pro-evolution, and will soon be anti-homophobic, as will many other Protestant denominations, such as Evangelical Lutherans and Methodists.

23. LOL, I live in Kansas
I know what it feels like to be ashamed of my state. We're the posterkids for "what wrong" and "intelligent design". Moreover, we've got Brownback (strange name for someone who hates immigrants) and Roberts as our senators.

My brother is now a Texan. He's lived there for close to ten years, mostly in Dallas-Ft.Worth-Plano areas. I've meant plenty of Texans that I know not to judge all of them by the actions of a few.

Thankfully there are sane Kansans. Well, okay, almost. Let's just say there are other DU'ers in my area, although I wouldn't exactly call them all sane. ;-)

24. Well he might not have said it there but
I'm pretty sure calling a group hypocrites, vipers, sons of the devil and indicating they had earned damnation and so on is pretty clear. The modern day Pharisees are an even worse group then the ones he was speaking to when it comes to all the "Woe unto Yous" quoted in Luke.

And the ending to "Whatever you do to the least of these my brethren, therefor you do unto me." has a pretty clear ending too in Matt 25. Those who didn't give drink, food, care, comfort and so on to the least of us are told to depart from him and go into the eternal fire with the devil and so on.

Jesus could get pissed off too and oddly (considering the right wings claim on him) it's them doing the things that got that gentle man so angry.

18. My Sediments, Exactly!
I love my neighbors even when they don't love, much less like me.
They don't care about tossing trash out in our gutters, but I usually pick up the trash, coming and going. Always the first to smile, it's ok when others don't smile back 'cause maybe they're having a bad day, or don't care -- whatever.

It seems more easy to forgive others for trespassing against myself, then it is for me to forgive myself over silly things, you know. And I try really hard not to place self on the same level as others fore:

"If you argue long enough with assholes, before long no one will be able to tell the two of you apart."

But as a Cemetery Preservationist, I've stood over thousands of grave sites. Never once did I think of who they were, what they did, or what side of the war they were on (Civil), much less how they voted.

Did I ever once consider the religion of the church, or who's land I was stepping along wading through high-grass looking for snakes while answering calls for help, protection, preservation, whatever -- no.

But this. This is just; well... abnormal, madness. This is what the GOP is about. And it looks nothing historically of what America is, slash-that, was about.

Where are our leaders?
Where are the outcries of so-called Right-wing Christians?

These are not the type of "bikers" I knew growing-up, and I knew plenty.
