Cindy Shehan's Act of Civil Disobedience: A beautiful thing
What Ms. Shehan is doing is absolutely beautiful. She could be anyone's mother, but she has taken it upon herself to demand answers from this evil, warmongering, hatemongering, fascist cabal. And she is not taking no for an answer. Unlike the cutsie little Friday press releases that get swept under the rug, this woman is NOT going away. She is withstanding the elements, the hate, the threats, just hanging in there, as her demands for justice go unanswered. God I wish I had half her tenacity.

I am not a Christian, nor am I a flag worshipper. But this shit ass that ran over those crosses and flags is a most disgusting waste of human flesh. I have never in my LIFE seen such right wing hypocracy. More than stealing elections, hate mongering on the radio, and illegal invasions, this heinous waste of flesh has me seething. God and Flag, Flag and God, the 24 hour drumbeat goes on and on and on. And then, to show how much these wingnuts really care for flags and Jesus, he drives over them with his big white trash pick-um-up truck. Screw Jesus, Screw God, Screw America, Screw the Troops. Screw everything but my hate for freedom. God these people make me sick. Now I am going to cry....for Cindy's beautiful thing and for the fact that such hateful humans call themselves Christians and Americans. Rant off.

1. They are not Christians.
I am a Christian. Whenever I do anything or say anything, I always wonder what God would think of me. Everyone commits sin and I make my share of mistakes. But, a true Christian could not condone this war or anything GWB has done. I picture God looking down on George with disgust for committing evil in His name. He is the closest thing to Satan I have ever seen. Even Hitler got away with genocide in Gods' name. Many people have been fooled by evildoers who have been allowed to use Gods' name. These people may go to church every Sunday, but they are not listening. Shame on them. People are dying because of their ignorance. Sorry to ramble, but I do so hate when these morons say they are the Christian Right. It gives God a bad name and I just wanted to stick up for Him.

2. my thoughts on the cross desecrator....
He could have done a lot of things, but he chose to mow down tributes to fallen soldiers in a war (I presume) he supports. If you ever wanted proof that republicans support the war but not the troops, there it is symbolicly demonstrated for the world to see.

But lets ask ourselves THIS question: top republican leaders do not attend memorial services for the fallen troops. Pictures of flag draped coffins would never have been shown if not sued in court. Young republicans are not enlisting in droves. No republican politician's child is in Iraq. and yet....and yet....Bush calls the war "noble".
They themselves do not consider the sacrifice of our troops noteworthy of even their scorn. How do they view the war itself as noble?

at any rate, mowing down the crosses proves how powerful a message they are.
We need to start putting up crosses in EVERY TOWN IN AMERICA, in the most visible places possible, next to state capitol buildings, to army recruiting centers.
And when they are mowed down, record the event, and quietly replace them. As 1,800 turns into 2,000 and 3,000 and higher (Which I sadly fear, when our troops are caught between civil war factions) it will be a memorial that cannot be ignored.

FURTHER, I think the Iraqi-American community should fill one whole field with over 100,000 crosses as a memorial.

try to ignore THAT image.

3. Go ahead and cry.
Get angry. Scream & shout. Then take a deep breath and roll up your sleeves. We got work ta do; I'm right here beside you.

5. Thank you
I feel kind of the way I do when Matthew Shepard was murdered. Numb, sick, angry, hurt all at once. That day I took a long walk in a green place(only beginning of fall where I was--still quite green). As I looked at the sunshine on the land, and the breeze blowing and wondered how such things can happen in this world. But then, my resolve was steeled and I got a voice. I think this same scenario will unfold today.

4. Agree with everything you said
(except the white trash part...it denotes that white people should be better than others)

I am not a Christian or a big fan of symbols such as the American flag, but even I was taken aback by the severe insensitivity of this man who decided that he had to make a statement. This incident simply reinforces my belief that the extreme right is violent to the core. They use intimidation and violence to try to squelch any opposition. I know of no leftist that would advocate the use of violence to push their cause. Although I am sure there are violent leftists out there, their numbers are few. The violent right is ever present.
