No Fly Republican
Here it is, a perfect example of cognitive dissonance. The no fly list.
Our flight regulations are laws that we cannot know. People are convicted without evidence, intention, or probable cause. People are restricted in their movements because their 'papers' are not in order.
Here is an example,
http://www.usatoday.com/travel/news/2005-08-15-nofly-babies_x.htm
Leave it to the tough Republicans to protect us from 2 year olds. Some of these kids can't yet wield a box knife. There is no process or right to be removed from these lists. Partisan punishment has been done, people have had to prove that infants are innocent. Imagine how hard it is if you have been put on the list and have a swarthy appearance. Do Republicans actually think that their leaders have the first clue? Are there thinking Republicans?

1. Don't forget the "don't fly to the US" laws either..
.. the ones where, even if you're just in transit, can win a ticket to a torture jail in the Middle East, free of charge, courtesy of the Creepublicans!

20. Juice can be dangerous.
Apple juice, a common weapon of child terrorists, is ph 3.4 or lower, that's right it is a strong acid. Malic Acid is particularly good at dissolving skin tissue. Cool-aid, is often used a permanent dye. Good for marking victims and leaving messages. My gosh the Republicans are right, lets all hide under our mattresses.

5. Names on a "no fly list," in this country, are shared with babies?
So strange... Are there lots of parents naming their kids "Osama Bin Laden?"

potential "terrorists" in wheelchairs, too. Last year I witnessed a very elderly woman having her orthopedic shoes yanked off her feet, forced to stand up out of the chair, wanded, and felt-up. She looked terribly confused and frightened.

Yet many people I've recounted this story too are convinced she could have been a terrorist and the government was doing absolutely the right thing.

16. Get them talking about Germany.
They will all nod their heads in agreement that the German people should have stood up to Hitler. The day I get a few spare bucks, I'm buying cool-aid stock.

9. This Week In TSA Security
So, I have an arab name. Just putting that out there. I have a beard. I look like my avatar if I weren't living in South Park. Hawaiian Shirt and all.

I'm not on the no fly list. I've flown multiple times since 9/11 around the country and overseas. Boston, Pittsburgh, Dallas, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Orange County, San Francisco, Reno, Minneapolis, Chicago, Cleveland...to name a few.

Each and every time I get the 'special search'. I hand my boarding pass to the man checking them at security and "TSA!" he shouts to the far right line, "Right down there sir." he says to me. I walk to the far right, bypassing numerous available screeners, to stand in line with tan, brown, and black individuals. About one in five is a white person, just to keep up appearances I guess.

What follows is the thorough screening. Everything off, full pat down, go through the bags, wand, feet inspection, etc. A few times I've been extra special lucky and gotten to go to a small room where a man with a machine gun watches as I unpack everything I have.

All in all I don't mind. Hey. I'm dark with a beard. I get it. I allow myself the extra time. Sometimes though, you just don't have it.

This past week my sister flew in to visit. She's handicapped and in a wheelchair, and was bringing in my new nephew for a visit. Wheelchair's and baby strollers make the airport experience difficult. So I went to the ticket counter to get a gate pass to help her. After spending a half hour in line to talk with a ticket agent, I spent another half hour with them tick tacking on their computers to get me a gate pass. When I finally managed to obtain one, I headed down to security with my sister's flight arriving in 10 minutes. Heck, if it was early she might already have been in.

"TSA! Right over there sir."

Needless to say she met me outside of security. Look I might be a nasty arab, and maybe I have a beard, but if something were to happen on a plane you'd be glad I was there. I'm a big guy with a high tolerance for pain, and I don't like assholes threatening me. Nobody is hijacking a plane with me onboard while i'm alive. Can I just please get some sort of card or liscence so that I don't have to go to the extra special line? I'll go through the normal metal detectors, i'm just sick and tired of walking barefoot through an airport security area with my hands out to my sides as someone rummages through my bags.

18. Conservative=Racist
We are loosing our hospitality in this country and that scares me. With a loss of hospitality goes the loss of civilization.

19. Scary isn't it.
One could expect a no fly zone when our leader is a no read zone. ( I stand corrected, he has been known to read about goats.)
