Did media harass John Walsh for marriage falling apart after son's death?

Is the media UNAWARE that many families break apart after the death or severe injury to one of the members?

Maybe they should do an ENLIGHTENING story about the unspoken costs to family unity when any tragic death or ailment occurs.

5. Reve Walsh did file for divorce

She did file for divorce in August of 2002, but he requested that they go to counseling.

In December 2002, the divorce was put on hold, and according to a transcript from CNN's People in the news, dated July 2003, they were still trying to "work things out."

Reve Walsh filed the petition with the Indian River County Courthouse
in Vero Beach Florida.

I believe he's a sales rep. I can imagine that right-wing customers and his employer can put a LOT of pressure on a guy "who can't keep his wife in line." It's easy for such folks to give lip service to sympathy and make a man's professional life a living hell. It's also easy for a guy in such a position to submit to such pressure to some degree. Not 'right' mind you, but easy. We're certainly not at our best when, after suffering such a tragic loss, we're confronted with such covert pressures.

This is an opportunity to address a serious issue that "traditional" families are facing at a time when the divorce rate in this country continues to be at 50%. Unfortunately, the media in this country is so shallow that they can only participate in sliming anyone that is in their sites, so that they can continue to rake in those all important advertising $$.

6. What is a "Traditional Family" ?

Who gets to make the rules, who gets to define what traditions are
acceptable?

A traditional American family at one time was where the wife and daughters had little to no rights, and beating your child was considered a form of discipline not abuse, and there was no such thing as spousal rape.

As times change so does the concept of what is traditional, in my case I was raised by my mother who was married 7 times, 3 of those marriages were to my father. To me this was a traditional family, I was loved and taken care of as were my two half brothers.

When the fanatics talk about a "traditional family" they are referring to the one where the man is in charge and makes all of the decisions, and the wife has no say whatsoever.

Not for me thanks, if I told my wife that her thoughts didn't count, I'd be sleeping in the garage.

A tradition is what those concerned make it, not some label that society wants to place on it.

He's a pal of Jeb Crow Shrub's. When he was making the media whore rounds, peddling some jam or jelly (book or t.v. show or whatever), his boilerplate spiel was that he admitted his adultery, apologized, and completed counseling, that this made him DIFFERENT from CLINTON.
