Still, hours after Novak went public with a clarification of Mrs. Wilson's status, she was described as a "undercover agent" by former White House chief of staff David Gergen in an interview with Fox News Channel's Greta Van Susteren, and as a "covert agent" by MSNBC's Chris Matthews. And we're supposed to be surprised by the democrat operatives pushing this democrat lie to the hilt? This smacks of coordinated attack, group bilging, something like the coincidental 'gravitas' useage! Sadly, American voters will swallow the koolaid willingly with the prep and repetition the demonrat operatives will apply. Chuckie Schumer grandstanding for independent investigation tells one all one needs to know to see the whole thing is a trumped up lie by the deceit-filled democrat criminal enterprise. David Korn will now suggest it is time for impeachment, as he fingers his clinton kneepads and recalls the Arkincide listings and his cowardly knees begin to knock together for fear of not fulfilling his master's commands.

As if Tenet would ask for an investigation over a mere analyst.

He MIGHT go that route if he believed that it would send a message that you don't attempt to put a potential agent at risk, for any reason, to protect real agents. But I don't think that's the case here. It's too public at this point, and it would be too easy to reveal that she wasn't an operative.

I've been saying for a long time that the worst mistake the Mayberry Machiavellis made was to mess with the CIA (pressuring them to force intel into an ideological mold, cornering Tenet into falling on his sword over Yellowcake--but read his whole statement and you realize he didn't fall on it much, outing an agent, etc). You don't mess with people who trade in secrets at that level. They know too much. They can hump you in ways unimaginable.

And now I get to sit back with a Cheshire-Cat grin around my freeper co-workers and watch them sputter and fume about this one and come up with all their implausible denials to mask their terror that maybe--just maybe--their boy Bushie is in real trouble now.

I believe the CIA has a few more tricks up its sleeve yet. This is only the beginning.

It'll be a hell of a show.

I love the freeper phrase "just an analyst." True, the damage wouldn't be as great if an analyst's cover were blown as if a case officer was outed, but it's still AGAINST THE LAW (caps lock for clueless freeper lurkers).
