that rattle might be a weapon! - infants kept from boarding airlines
yet another sign that the government/TSA is inept and overrun by a mechanic way of thinking anout terrorist threats:

'No-fly list' keeps infants off planes

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Infants have been stopped from boarding planes at airports throughout the United States because their names are the same as or similar to those of possible terrorists on the government's "no-fly list."

<snip>

Sarah Zapolsky and her husband had a similar experience last month while departing from Dulles International Airport outside Washington. An airline ticket agent told them their 11-month-old son was on the government list.

They were able to board their flight after ticket agents took a half-hour to fax her son's passport and fill out paperwork.

"I understand that security is important," Zapolsky said. "But if they're just guessing, and we have to give up our passport to prove that our 11-month-old is not a terrorist, it's a waste of their time."

:freak:

(is it me, or are we approaching a reality that seems to be taken from a Terry Gilliam movie?)

1. How about the blood curdling screech? Has always seemed dangerous to me
as my eardrums start bleeding after each one occurs.

6. their totally reactive and mechanic in their thinking
people hijack a plane with box cutters; ban nail files and cuticle scissors

someone hides bomb in his shoe; have people remove shoes at checkpoints

they're always looking for a the last thing used...i swear that if someone were to sew explosives into their clothes it would only be a matter of time before we're all wearing disposable hospital gowns on flights....

8. Just changed a diaper that might make you re-think your premis.
The flowers outside all wilted.

Serioulsy, this issue is further evidence that the whole air travel security measures are all for show and have absolutely NO SUBSTANCE.

When Ted Kennedy and a bunch of babies turn up on No Fly Lists, the lists are useless.

Can't help but think if real terrorists were a real consideration, there would be REAL SECURITY measures. Makes me more and more convinced about LIHOP/MIHOP.
