Many unaware of inaccurate polling
Lots of people whom I talk to seem to believe these network polls that show Arnold ahead of Bustamante, and Bush with a 50% approval rating. Personally, I think they are fabrications.
But talking to friends and neighbors, not only do they believe the polls, but they are way bummed out that people really approve of these guys. Is there some kind of a disconnect happening around media distortion? It seems to me that this may be a form of mind control. I often spend hours trying to convince people that they cannot trust these bogus polls.

1. Here is one way you can deal with it
You can tell them polls are a picture of the moment but most
importantly they do show a trend.

Secondly they are gamed, but you and I know it... and
convincing them to realize that they are not sick, and that
there is cognitive disconect will be hard.

Recomend to them that they read 1984 by George Orwell, which
is not fiction anymore but prophecy.

3. They SHOULD be bummed out or worse
If the polls are accurate, then it demonstrates that although these people care, they are not making themselves heard or known and are depending on others to speak up for them. Well, guess what? Those of us that have been the OTHERS for decades are suffering from a bit of fatigue right now and deperately need for them to get off their ass and find a minute to volunteer, write a letter to their paper or take some meaningful action. I know they are tired when they get off of work and all that. I am too. We can sleep when we're dead.

If the polls are NOT accurate...then why are we all paying our cable bill? To be misinformed?

When massive public outcry starts hitting the propaganda machine...some will change their habits..until then..look forward to a bucn of depressed neighbors who would rather cry and moan than take an OUNCE of responsibility for the ugly state of affairs in America.

After all the work I have done on this recall, to often be treated with indifference by people whose very livelihoods it affects (busdrivers, truckdrivers, service occupations and the like) it's time for someone to step up to the plate and ac as though their livelihood is AT LEAST as important as I think it is.

Nobody wants to pay higher taxes for services they aren't getting but then again...if you don't know what you have til it's gone...what can I do for you?

4. polls
Granted, polls do have problems(margin of error, samples, etc...). Still, overall, they tend to be pretty right on____even when we don't like the results.

Unless you have proof otherwise, I think that your easy dismissal is pretty hasty.

p.s. Beleive it or not, a large segment of Americans(sometimes reaching a majority at times!) actually like Bush and Co. Sad but true.
