when is Bush going to 'jawbone OPEC" for lower prices
like he said he would in the 2000 campaign. will he get that done before he 'changes the tone,' "unites and not divides," ends the process of nation building, and fully funds our veterans?

As I went past a $2.65 Regular sign this afternoon. $2.89 for high test and you can bet Bush's ass that it will top three bucks by next week.

5. He also said federal gas tax should be eliminated
He blamed the gas tax for high prices back in 99, when gas was 1.60.

Now, the new highway pork-o-rama bill was funded by the gas tax.

8. Some savvy headline grabbing Dem
ought to call for a temporary repeal of the gas tax to shame the Republicans.

7. His words
Bush said today that he would bring down gasoline prices by creating enough political good will with oil-producing nations that they would increase their supply of crude. “I would work with our friends in OPEC to convince them to open up the spigot, to increase the supply. Use the capital that my administration will earn, with the Kuwaitis or the Saudis, and convince them to open up the spigot.”
