I just made a stranger storm off because of Bill Clinton!
I've been staying at a local hotel due to some construction work at my home. I use the business center computer there to check my email & come to DU.There are 2 computers side by side. This guy whom I have chatted with came in to check his mail. I've seen this guy before. He is from Georgia, thick accent, here on business, seems like a nice guy. I don't even know his name, but we've talked about sports, movies, the weather, etc.

Tonight I was on Huffington post reading some stuff on Cindy Sheehan. I hear him sighing & taking deep breaths & talking under his breath. He has done this before, talk to himself or the computer screen. I ignored it. But tonight it was annoying me because he was loud & doing it almost non-stop.I then went to the Clinton Presidentital Library giftshop website. I was looking for some collectibles to decorate my desk with & a new ball cap. I was casualy browsing & I swear, I thought the guy was in pain. ALl of a sudden he jumped out of his chair & left. I heard him talking on cel phone really loud. Again, I wasn't really paying attention to what he was saying as I was browsing & concentrating on my own stuff. I then registered him talking loudly down the hall, "I ignored the Cindy Sheehan shit but then than son bitch Clinton was on the screen" I stopped to listen. Obviously, he was talking loud enough for me to hear but too chicken to say it to me when he was right next to me."I see him everyday. I don't know what the world's coming too!" He then said to whoever he was talking to on the phone, "Thank God I'm coming home this weekend. I've had enough of Connecticut & these rich snobs!"

Its amazing how the smallest things set people off. Now, I have all week & I know I'm going to confront him atleast once. This shoudl be very interetsing! Anyway, I just had to vent since it happened about 3 minutes ago!

Edited on Tue Aug-16-05 07:01 PM by I Have A Dream
You should FedEx yourself some Clinton t-shirts to wear the entire time that you're there!

However, in another 3 years when we control the White House, I'd do the same thing that he did if I saw someone with B* on the screen. I get nauseated just thinking of the man/reptile! :puke:

7. And what was he browsing?
My guess is you don't know, because unlike this "fine upstanding" repug, you were monding your own business, not spying on him.

8. That is ridiculous!ly funny!
When I was in CT earlier this year, I had a waitress ask about the Clinton Library, and I invited her to come up to my neck of the woods and listen to some good music by some good liberals. She was glad that there were liberal AR. I hope she had as good a time here as I did in CT.

11. Next time I saw him,
I'd ask him, out of nowhere, if the monitor on his computer is broken. When he says no, ask him what fucking business he has paying attention to what you're looking at? After all, you're nothing but a snob who's obviously of inferior judgement and character so how can you possibly be worth all that stress? Smile when you do it, too.

people have jobs, air is cleaner, education is better, people living longer, higher education is cheaper, no kids getting killed in Iraq, taxes going down, no crime, no homeless, food and water not polluted, and no one is getting sick without having health insurance...

13. You have a very good way of depicting the situation, I can actually
visualize it and, if you do happen to be sitting beside him again, here are my suggestions:

Make sure and visit the same sites the next time you are side by side but, this time, make your own sounds like, 'right on', 'wow', 'go Cindy', all 'under your breath' as were his sighs, and watch his reactions out of the corner of your eye as you do this.

Another suggestion might be to sigh a little bit louder than he every time he sighs and then, again, watch him out of the corner of your eye.

type of thing before!

It's nice to know how to push those right-wingers' buttons.

23. LOL, too true, I have had occasion to practice my suggestions
and the results have been quite informative. They either say something obnoxious and leave, simply leave or actually start a conversation, of sorts, where one can actually trade beliefs, albeit, the third reaction is the most rare. Whatever the reaction, it is ALWAYS educational, lol.

19. Whats sad is
He seems so nice & I'm sure he is. I would NEVER react like that if he was viewing right wing sites. I wouldn't even treat him any differently. My Dad always says, 'When traveling & when you meet up with kind starngers, NEVER talk politics or religion'. I never do. I apparently upset this guy without knowing it. I think he was very immature talking on the phone real loud for me to hear. I'm not the only one who heard him. Lots of other guests did as well.I just can't believe this guy flipped out over an image of Clinton.

21. Go to the website for the Hoover Institute. . .
http://www-hoover.stanford.edu/

it's a very conservative research institute on the Stanford University campus. I had the pleasure to spend a few summers there, doing research and bouncing ideas off some very brilliant people.

Pull up some of the pages for Larry Diamond, senior fellow at the institute, then engage the Georgian in a discussion of Diamond's latest book, Squandered Victory: The American Occupation and the Bungled Effort to Bring Democracy to Iraq (Times Books, 2005). Be certain to bring up how Condoleeza Rice picked Dr. Diamond to go to Iraq, check out the situation, and report back to her on the future of democracy in Iraq.

Point out how ultra-conservative but highly-educated Dr. Diamond is, and how his assessment -- which the government requested -- differs radically from what the government has said and continues to say. Ask him how the White House can send experts to make reports, but then ignore or twist their views to fit the mal-administrations preconceived ideals.

Ask him if he saw Larry Diamond on the Daily Show last month.

29. Silly feller, don't he know Bill is GHW's and Babs' bestest bud?
LOL. Act like nothing's happened. He's the one that acted like a boob. Although maybe next time you could make sure to have a pic on the screen of Bill & George Herbert being best buds together.

What's he doing minding your business rather than his own anyway? He gets that upset about something like that, that good old boy's going to blow a valve.

30. Why would he get upset?
It's not like he was viewing the websites. Had he kept his big fat republican eyes off YOUR computer screen, he wouldn't have gotten so upset. Does he think he'll turn liberal if he looks at democratic websites? What a fucking chickendipshit. He hates Clinton so much that he had to call somebody and whine about it. I will never understand stupid bush sucking freepers.

32. WTF?
Exactly what the fuck business was it of his what you were looking at and what sites you were visiting? Who the hell did he think he was even paying any attention at all to what you were looking at? God, the nerve of these fuckers sometimes. What is it about repukes that makes them always have to stick their noses in other people's business, where it doesn't belong, and makes them want to demand that everyone think and believe exactly the way they do?
