19. The original "Nancy," drawn by Ernie Bushmiller, was brilliant.

It was the quintessential comic strip, a beautiful clean look and a one-gag format; adult minds in the characters of children. After Bushmiller's death it was passed around to a couple of different hacks, but of course it was never the same.
