Russian Leader Flies in Strategic Bomber Tue Aug 16, 9:37 PM ET

MOSCOW - He drives trucks and trains. He's sailed on a submarine and he's flown in a fighter jet. Add a flight in a supersonic strategic bomber and a cruise missile launch to the list of President Vladimir Putin's accomplishments.

After attending the Moscow International Air Show Tuesday, the 52-year-old Russian leader donned a black helmet and an air force jump suit, then boarded a sleek white Tu-160 bomber and took off for a training mission that included supersonic flight and launching a cruise missile over the Arctic.

"A new, high-precision, long-range cruise missile was tested today, and it hit the target. This is a good result," Putin was quoted as saying by Interfax after his plane touched down.

But I suppose Chimpy really does have a right to be too scared to ride. Horses, after all, are excellent judges of character.
