... would you go after him with everything you had, even if you had to lie, cheat, steal and blackmail people into helping you? Would you kill any innocent bystanders that got in the way and declare them collateral damage? And when you are called on your lies, would you say "Whoopsie, too late now. I have to get on with my life," in a breezy sort of way as you head out for a bicycle ride?

3. The whole "murder mah Daddy" myth is just that...myth

Just more "intelligence" like the incubator babies story. It was used as a ruse to give an excuse to patrol the no-fly zones with a vengeance.. Our aggressive overflights would have worn thin after a while without that additional excuse.. also an excuse to explain the continued holding of the bases in Saudi.

EVERYTHING about the * family is cloaked in rhetoric and fabricated stories.. Just like "Flyboy".. should have been subtitled.. The man who bailed on his crew and sent them to their deaths.. That story of his was suspect from the beginning, but remember..he had an important Daddy too..so of course he HAD to be a hero..:puke:

4. I guess it depends.

If I were president of the United States, and some foreign dictator made a Keystone-Kops lame-ass non-attempt to assasinate my father who was also a former preident of the United States, no I wouldn't invade his country.

But I'm not President of the United States, nor was my father. If someone tried to murder my father I'm not really sure what I would do. I tend to think that revenge probably would be on my mind, yes. That is human.

5. The desire and impulse for revenge are human

But using revenge as a pre-text to advance your own business agenda is purely cynical self-interest and greed. To get thousands of people killed in the process is inexcusable.

I don't know what issues you have with your father, but I do know that time has a way of mellowing people out. I hope that whatever rift is between you is something that can be eventually overcome, and if it's not, I hope that you are both able to come to some sort of terms with it.

I have a very close relationship with my dad, but my partner does not. They're working on it, but it just takes a lot of time and a lot of sensitivity to heal old wounds.
