Round the clock, everywhere, protest.

I've been thinking for some time about ways to help our cause with protests. A major drawback that frequently limits the effectiveness is the inability for enough people to converge on a given day and time. I think I have now come up with a better method.

If we decentralize the effort and make it a constant, day to day action we can more effectively show our displeasure around the clock and limit coordinated counter protest activity.

Simply put, each of us makes up a poster-board sign with a concise statement (example: Bush Lied, Troops Are Dying; or Meet With Cindy Sheehan)) about different topics. We keep these in our cars. As we go about our daily routines we make time (5 minutes before and after work, 5 minutes when we stop to go shopping, etc) to take out a sign, go to a street corner and hold the sign. We can even do so in front of government buildings.

With all of us doing this every day even briefly, it exposes the memes we wish to spread on a constant basis. People will see these comments everywhere at any time of day or night.

1. Isn't that what we're doing right now, on line?

I suggest a combination of the two. We should share our posts outside the friendly confines of progressive boards. Send your protest posts to newspapers, politicians, and even that other site - well, they'll quickly ban you, but so what!

Let's discuss guerilla e-media tactics. as well.

Basically it looks like a more effective tactic is to make the protest widespread and 24/7/365. It's hard to ignore something that isn't confined to just a few locations and by doing it this way we avoid the need for permits as well.

Combined with freeway blogging, and other tactics we can get past the ignorance of the self blinded, and censorship by the media to make things known.

7. Freeway protests-freeway blogging. I like overpass signs, myself.

We change minds one at a time. You'd be surprised how effective individual LTTEs are - every good newspaper publisher makes sure the senior eds know what kind of sentiment is coming in from the public.

Everything gets read, at least by an intern or jr. editor.

would strike many people as, well, offensive.

Remember the movie Network: "I want you all to open your windows, stick your heads out, and shout, 'I'm sick and tired, and I'm not going to take this anymore!'"

I always thought that, or some variation on it, was a good tactic.
